I bought some new clothes and finally did what they tell you to do on ""What Not To Wear"" and went to get them altered. I took one pair on pants to Rudolph and Valentina and one to Anna's. The ladies at Rudolph and Valentina were fine, but they were not the ones who do the actual tailoring, so the pants were better, but not stellar. Anna does your fitting and the tailoring and the pants I got back from her fit perfectly. The cost was the same but I felt Anna was so much nicer to deal with and the quality was just better. A few days later I was wearing the pants Anna fitted, and got asked out. He said my a## looked great. I am sold! Ladies, get your pants altered. You never know what might happen :o) more

I was looking for a tailor and a friend recommend Anna to me. I read some of the reviews on her shop and despite the bad reviews I still went to see her and she was the most sweetest person I have met. Very professional and listened to everything I told her that I needed done on my items. I took her 2 pairs of pants and a blouse. Her prices are very reasonable if you are looking for good quality work, Anna is the tailor you are looking for. I guess some people don't want to pay for good quality work. But I am here to tell you that she is worth every penny for the work she does...EXCELLENT! After going to see her, I now think that the people that gave her low stars or talked bad about her and her work are totally wrong. I took a blouse with a side zipper to be taken in. You would expect her to redo the side seam, with zipper...instead she just made another seam down the back to take in the extra material. Then charged an outrageous price for something I could have done myself (I took it to her because I don't know how to sew up involving zippers)\r I used to go to her about 20 years ago. Very good tailoring, very good prices. So my boyfriend needed his lab coat altered and took it to her. She quoted another outrageous price. So I altered it for him myself. I was shocked at the prices she was now charging, and the shoddy job on my now ruined blouse. She even asked me for change for a customer, saying it would be taken off my bill, since she had no reimbursement for me. It was not taken off the bill. I paid for some of the previous customers bill!!!!!!\r I will never go back again, sadly. Cons: high price more

Trying a new tailor is as scary as trying a new salon, but Anna was fantastic and very fast. Yes, her prices are higher than others, but if you've ever had a botched hem on expensive jeans you know that it's worth it to go with the best. I had to respond because of comments made by others. I am NOT a white woman and I can promise you that I would not take my cloths to anyone else but Anna! I have gone to other tailors who offered a lower price by two or three dollars and I was so disappointed. My cloths are of very good quality and I would like to keep them that way. After trying to save a few cents, I will never trust anyone but Anna to make alterations! I have even asked Anna for a discount because of the terrible ecomonic times, and she was HAPPY to give it to me. I have seen how Anna interacts with her client's and I have never noticed her to be rude regardless of the persons race. Anna treats everyone the same because she loves the Lord! Anna does the best work in LA and I will always take all my alterations to her. If you want quality work delivered with a smile, Anna is you ONLY choice! Pros: Quality of work is fantastic! I used Citysearch when I was looking for a tailor so I thought it only fair for me to leave a review as well.\r \r I've been to Anna 3 times. Each time she has done a fine job. Each time she has also been rude and indifferent to me. After she hemmed a pair of pants for me, I tried them on and wasn't sure about the length. ""Well, I'm not going to do it again,"" she said, annoyed. Obviously I would have paid if I wanted her to re-hem them, but she immediately responded to me as if that wouldn't have been the case. And it was a little embarrassing since she said this in front of another customer. \r \r I never mind paying what she requests, because I think good handiwork is worth it, but I do mind giving money to someone who acts like I am a nobody. After giving her 3 chances to be the sweet woman everyone on Citysearch raves about, I realized it wasn't going to happen. So I'm looking elsewhere. I have a feeling most of her customers are white and so are her reviewers. She seemed to react more warmly to the white customers that came into her shop. Perhaps she is more comfortable with them. Anna is the warm, likable, Italian Grandmother we all wish we had. Over the past five years, she has tailored several dresses, suits, pants and most recently, two oversized sweat shirts for me. So I had read the reviews of Anna's and let me first say THIS IS NOT ANNA. She does not even know how to access the internet. I had purchased a brand new italian suit just over a year ago, and after 20 pounds of lost weight, the jacket no longer fit. The 42 L swallowed me. After speaking with Nordstrom and some other places, I was told NO ONE could take in a suit jacket, particulary through the shoulders. I called Anna and she said come on and that she could do anything. Well RIGHT she was, 10 days later, I had a jacket that fits me through the shoulders perfectly. Best of all, it ONLY cost me $85! Beats buying a brand new suit for 300-600 dollars. Anna is a sweet talented lady that will absolutely take care of your tailoring needs at the right price! I'm not going to gush about Anna the way some of the reviewers have. I did get a *little* attitude from her at first and her prices are somewhat higher than I might prefer, BUT she is a fantastic tailor. I brought in a dress that was basically a size too big and I needed this dress for an important occasion. She fixed the dress and it looked magnificent. But her alterations cost more than the dress cost. To me, it was worth it to have the dress fitting and looking great, but it's true that her prices can be a little high. You can make up your own mind about what's important to you, but for me, I'm going back to Anna because I know she will do a beautiful job and she'll do it right the first time. Found Anna here on Citysearch and took in a bridesmaid dress that was way too big and ill-fitting. Anna completely reworked the dress and turned it from a sack of material into a beautiful dress. I needed two suits tailored for a job next week in London. She had them re-cut, pressed and ready the next day. OK. She insists on my modeling the cloths for her, a privilege reserved for first-time customers only. What can I say, it sent shivers up my spine to see how perfect the cut was. Armani and Versace, better than ever. She even tapered by pants, so as to have them look more current. A touch of class. The search stops here. She takes pride in her work, and so do I. I recently had to bring a too small bridesmaids dress in to be altered. Not only did she alter it to make it fit but she also hemmed it beautifully as well so I wouldn't trip when walking down the aisle. She is truly a genius and a wonderfully nice woman too. I am definitely going to take all my clothes to her no matter what. She is highly highly recommended especially for those heart stopping emergencies like altering bridal wear two weeks before the wedding. Why go to Italy to buy nice clothes when you can go to Anna who will make all of your clothes look like you just came back from Rome! I moved to LA 9 years ago, and have been trying to find a great tailor ever since. I've gone to six different tailors around town, some recommended here by Citysearch. One is never available, another made a hump in the back of the jackets, another didn't know how to cuff pants properly, and on and on. To an average eye, the resulting suits looked okay, but not to someone who knows real tailoring. So I took my suits to Anna, this delightful grandmother from Sicily. She looks at the suits in horror and asks who did the tailoring and did they charge me? I thought maybe I was in the right place. After she fixed all seven suits, I knew I was. She undid the things they did, and did other things they couldn't. They're now perfect. Go see Anna. She's the best in town. more
