Love Jessica Aacker and her team 8/20/2011

I had my first baby 2/3/11 and Jessica was my midwife. I can't speak highly enough of this clinic and of Jessica. The front desk ladies welcome you and remember your name. Joy, Jessica's assistant is awesome and she makes you feel so comfortable from the very first visit. Jessica makes you feel like your concerns are heard and really takes the time listen to your questions and concerns and will give you advice both medically and on a personal level which I found refreshing because sometimes you don't want the ""medical or book"" answer. Sometimes you want to know from her own experience what she feels is best and I felt like Jessica and her team would give me a straight answer. I ended up having to have a c - section and Jessica was right there with me through the whole process. If I were to have another baby I'd be going back to them and I plan to continue going for my health needs. I love Jessica and her assistant Joy and miss going in every week. I can't wait for them to see my little girl grow up :) Please go to this clinic and ask for Jessica more

Love this clinic 7/31/2011

I have been coming to this clinic for many years and have never had a bad experience. From the minute I walk in the door I feel very comfortable. My provider and all the office help are very friendly. I have never had a billing issue and have always been told what my copays and costs will be. i would recommend this clinic to anyone. more

Outrageous charges 9/27/2010

I went for a first visit/scan, etc for my pregnancy. I was told that I had to put a $2500 deposit on my credit card, since my deductible was $5k. I should have canceled my appointment, but I was late in scheduling my first checkup, and they were the only clinic available. I was uncertain about my circumstances, and chose not to actually have a scan, etc for the first meeting - I spoke with the nurse midwife for 15 minutes, after the initial meeting with the nurse. I chose not to return to their clinic, and was still charged $400 for that visit - no tests, etc. I find this policy absolutely discriminatory. I wish I had gone somewhere else, for many reasons. more

Do not go to this clinic 9/16/2010

Charged for additional services I was not informed about and provided poor customer service. I went to Laurelhurst's clinic to get a women's wellness exam and asked for a female physician. When I got there they set me up with a nurse midwife because no other female physician was available. I explained to her that I had high cholesterol and she offered to have my lipid labs done, which I was happy about. Next thing you know, I'm being charged for additional services I did not ask for and was not informed about, including a blood cell count and metabolic panel (which I had done elsewhere). On top of that, they also performed a STD test, even though I told her I was hesistant to get one because I was sexually inactive but eventually agreed to get it because I felt slightly pressured by her. She said the STD test would be chlamydia and gonorrhea but surprise surprise it also included hepatitis C, herpes, and HIV. If I'm correct, most STD panel's do not include this and they did not tell me of the charge. Then on top of that, I was billed another statement 3 months after my exam for again a blood cell count and metabolic panel for a different date of insurance. Can we say insurance fraud? To make matters worse, it was hard for them to get a hold of me via phone so whenever I would call back to get my test results, the nurse midwife was never available, was either at lunch, or was out for a 4 day weekend. It finally took a month for them to tell me my results over the phone....which by the way she mentioned I should try an iron-skillet to cook my food because I had iron deficiency anemia BUT she never mentioned anything about taking iron supplements. As a healthcare professional myself, I was outraged with this type of service and the bills they sent me for same services, different dates. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going to the Laurelhurst Women's Clinic for anyone who wants good service and honesty. To make matters worse, the receptionists and billing agents were rude to me over the phone. more

Intentionally misled me on cost of procedures!!! 2/25/2010

I had used Dr. Anderson for two years with no issues. He is warm and friendly. He is not, however, aware or considerate of what the tests he recommends cost. He recommended a biopsy ""just in case"" because a test showed mild changes. I signed a credit agreement for $450. At the time I made the billing department aware that I was paying out of pocket and needed to know exactly what is would cost. I was told this is an estimate and they do not know ""exactly"" what it would cost. I accepted that (assuming the final bill would be close) and had the procedure done. One month later I got a bill for the biopsy interpretation totalling $3,100.00!!!!! (In additon to what I had already paid). What I had not been told and what was not written anywhere on the credit agreement that I signed was that their ""estimate"" was only for taking the biopsy and did not include any charges for looking at it. Of course I would want the tissue sample analyzed! So I should have been made aware that the analysis was not included when I directly asked the staff that question. If I am paying out of pocket and had told the woman that $450 was a lot of money for me, don't you think I would care if I go another bill in the mail for over $3000.00!!!! Dr. Anderson said he would take a biopsy. He ended up taking 4 pieces from the same location and I was charged for 4 separate biopsies at $750 each. The office has been unapologetic and Dr. Anderson has still not returned any of my 4 calls. I went from feeling comfortable at Laurelhurst to feeling completely misled and robbed. I do not trust them with my health anymore since they are obviously only concerned about tricking me into paying for a procedure they know I would have declined if I had been properly informed. Pros: Nice office and pleasant staff Cons: Quoted me $450 for a procedure that actually cost $3,600 more

Very caring and understanding staff 6/10/2008

I've been going to Rene Benninger for years, and she is fantastic. I would recommend her to anyone, especially anyone who is afraid of going to a gynecologist. more

Not happy 4/28/2008

Dr Anderson was not understanding of my pain. I ended up transferring to another OB/GYN who actually believed me. I have since had surgery to remove the fibroids that were causing me so much grief. I was very very disappointed with Dr Anderson. Plus, his nurse is rude more
