Go there- NOW (if not sooner) 6/27/2008

All I can say is WOW. We went last night and I was thoroughly impressed with everything! Dining room was full, but we were seated right away. Our waiter couldn't have been more nice and friendly- he had a geniune smile on his face for the entire meal service. We ordered a bit of everything- appetizer, soup, salad, and split the mixed grill entree, wine, and finishing off with some baklava and Turkish coffee-- everything tasted wonderful. Service was not slow at all- it was perfect. Our first courses and their yummy bread were served quickly (thank goodness- we were starved) and then the rest of the meal was served at a leisurely pace- but not too slow. There is nothing more frustrating then either being served too quickly (if I wanted ""fast"" food, I wouldn't have gotten out of my car), or too slowly---this was neither---it was great. Pros: Food, Food, Food, Service, Service, Service Cons: nothing I can think of more

From a local who has spent time in Turkey 3/18/2008

I rarely give any restaurant a 5 star rating. I dine out so much in my travels that it is hard to find a ""good 'restaurant that I would frequent, especially in my home town. Anatolia is not only authentic in its food but also in its atmosphere. Anyone who has enjoyed a full meal with a Turkish family or in a Turkish restaurant knows that time is not important when it comes to good food. I have seen some negative comments in these reviews about the service and I would like to respond by saying that this is not an in and out restaurant. Come in and order an appetizer and some hot tea (they refill it for free so enjoy as much as you like) and relax. Also, the food is all prepared from scratch, so it will take awhile as some of these dishes are complicated. I actually overheard one customer complaining how long one of the deserts took to arrive when it clearly states on the menu to order it in advance as it takes 20-30 min to cook it. This is a restaurant you come to enjoy your food and your dinner mate. Another positive quality of this restaurant is there wide range of food. Even the most timid and picky eaters can ease into this genre of food with recognizable and familiar food choices. The staff will never rush you and has always been attentive to an empty tea glass or finished dish to be cleared. Parking is never a problem. Finally, I would like to recommend the Iskander Kabob as a main dish. I have yet to find anyone out of the dozens of friends I have taken here who did not swoon over this simple yet amazing dish. Try this restaurant once and you will be hooked. Pros: Amazing Food, Great Wait Staff, Relaxing Atmosphere, Good Variety more

Worth the trip into Nashville for Special Occasion dining. 12/25/2007

We first learned about Anatolia from our children. I think our son-in-law, who works downtown for HCA, was taken there for lunch. He took our daughter and both they highly recommended it. Since we live south of Franklin in Williamson County, we tend to only go there when we're up in the Nashville area for some other reason and can stop by Anatolia in the evening. However, the food is so good that it's worth the fuel and time if you want a really great meal, great service and quiet atmosphere. We love Genie's Persian Palace, which is much closer to us, but the atmosphere at Anatolia is more formal, if a formal, romantic evening is what you're looking for. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service more

You must try the Elma Chai (apple tea)!!! 3/18/2007

Merhaba! I spent a couple of months in Turkey, and I must say, this was like a trip down memory lane! I had the kofte, and it tasted like home. The service was very good, and once the host and the waiter learned I had been to Turkey, to their hometown even, they were very excited! I highly recommend visiting this cozy little place, and be sure to have some Elma Chai while you're there! (By the way, it's EASY to find...this is coming from someone who routinely gets lost in her home town ;) Pros: Friendly staff, great food Cons: Few waiters more

A hidden gem 3/5/2007

You need to look for this place, hidden near the Target on White Bridge. The app sampler is the best - hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and fried phylo with cheese. YUMMY!!! The hummus and stuffed grape leaves are so awesome. The mixed grill entree is a good choice to sample a little of everything. The service is attentive and very friendly. You can take your own wine. Pros: Excellent food, good value more

Great Food, Ambience, Service, and Value!!! 4/2/2006

I'm so amazed. 7/25/2005

Of all the meals I ate when visiting Nashville, this was by far the best! Me and 6 of my friends went and all ordered different things. No one was dissappointed with their meal. They are a little slow, but I think that is part of the atmosphere. Don't go there if you are in a rush! It was well worth the wait though. I had the roasted chicken and it just melted in my mouth! I was so impressed with the place, I even tried lamb, which I vowed not to do. It was great also. I've been home less than a week and I'm already craving the food. I will definately be going back. Pros: Amazing Food, Great Value, Atmosphere Cons: A Little Slow more

Wonderful!!! 7/8/2005

I go to this restaurant all of the time! The staff is friendly, patient, and eager to please. The atmosphere is relaxing and I find myself with the freedom to take my time, not feeling rushed to free up the table. The food is ALWAYS good, and I have yet to find something there that I don't like. They have a great mix of meat selections, vegitarian entrees, heavy and light meals. I highly recommend the rose hip tea for something to sip on while you are there, and if you are going for the first time, start with the Anatolia sampler platter. It gives you a good introduction to the food. more

Great everything! 4/20/2005

Highly recommended! We had a huge party and the service was amazing. The food was great just about the entire party ordered lamb, which is a great choice. We chose the restaurant for the event because a chef friend endorsed it and we're glad we heeded his advice. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and satisfied, truly one of the best all around. Pros: everything more

WOW!! 2/3/2005

I have had many Middle Eastern cuisines, but this was my first experience with Turkish cuisine. The flavors were so well balanced and delicious! Our server made us feel so welcome and appreciative of our patronage - what a welcome delight in this day of so, so service. Make sure you order their special dessert, it was divine. Pros: Food, Service, Full Bar Cons: Ambiance is ok, Turkish Coffee was ok more

Cok guzel! 12/9/2004

What a great restaurant! I have traveled to Turkey several times and Anatolia is the first US based restaurant that made me feel like I was dining in Turkey. The menu is very extensive and boasts several rare, but popular Turkish dishes. It was so pleasing that the service was as fantastic as the cuisine. Pros: Service, Food more

Excellent 5/28/2004

Great ambience. My husband had the Iskender and I tried the meat platter. Everything was delicious, and the service was very good. Portions were generous, and everything was priced well for the value. They have real very fresh tasting meat, not the processed blends you typically get with Middle Eastern food. You should definitely need to try the kunefe dessert. It's exceptional! Pros: great value, lots of parking, friendly servers more

mspc 4/5/2004

I really, really love Anatolia! The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is excellent, and the prices very affordable. The stuffed grape leaves are momorable. Pros: grape leaves, stuffed eggplant, hummus more

Great Experience 3/22/2004

We really enjoyed the food. The grilled entrees were great - we enjoyed lamb chops and two eggplant dishes - all three adults in my party tasted each and truly enjoyed them all. These main dishes were excellent with fresh flavors. The food is not highly spiced, but has a touch of some wonderful Turkish flavors. (We also had two children who loved the skewered chicken and beef children's plates with fries). In addition, we had the grape leaves and cheese fillos with rose petal jam- they were delicious - I highly recommend both of these appetizers. We tried two soups - white bean and creamy onion, good and unusual flavors. Well priced and wonderfully new, we recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good, fresh food! more
