The girl I had been going to for my nails moved, so I had to find a new place. After looking at quite a few nail places online, I chose Anada because of the reviews I read about it (most were positive). Plus, I figured since it is right in the heart of Cherry Creek they must be pretty good or they wouldn't survive (I won't ever make that assumption again).
Right from the first impression I was not too happy... I walked in on-time, to see a slightly grungy, cramped little salon, which smelled like chemicals, and was extremely hot and stuffy to boot. Three girls were right near the door giving pedicures, they all looked up at me, yet none of them said a word, or even gave me a smile or nod. No greeting or acknowledgment at all. So I stood there for a minute (wondering if I should just turn around and leave - in hindsight I should have), and finally a girl came out from the back, greeted me, asked me to have a seat... said it would be a few minutes. Ok, fine. I am ok with waiting 5 or 10 minutes, I know things run behind... I waited approximately 35 minutes before they even began work on me.
The girl was clearly in a huge rush once she started... probably because more ladies had come in since me, and they were also waiting... none looking too pleased. Anyway, because she was in a rush, she was very rough with the file machine, gouging my fingers more than once. I had come in for a set of UV gels, so when she pulled out a powder (with a purple liquid activator... clearly acrylic) to start applying to my nails, I stopped her, and reminded her that I wanted gels. She replied that this was a ""new gel powder"", which I know for a fact is complete bullsh*t. Gel is gel, you set it under a UV light, no exceptions. What she had was clearly an acrylic, and no lights anywhere around. I let her proceed anyway, because I was on a tight schedule to get my nails done, and I had already invested 45 minutes in this place. She did an ok job with the application, but I was extremely angry that she was lying to me. I was paying more for gels... I may as well just have gotten acrylics (the same thing), for $15 less. When it was time for the top clear coat, the bottle that she needed was empty... so she looked in the other stations for another bottle, and when she couldn't find one, she clearly pulled out (right in front of me) a completely different bottle. I didn't say anything, but she could see me eyeing it, and said ""this is a new kind of gel topcoat... doesn't need to be set under a light"". (Yet another lie... because she had obviously run out of the stuff they normally use).
I paid, left, and immediately began looking for a new nail salon to go to when I need these fixed. And of course, only two days after I had them done, the ""new"" clear top coat is cracking on all fingers... I can actually see the crack lines, especially over the white tip area) and some of the cracks are apparently deep enough to collect a little dirt, so they are actually dark. Unfortunately, they are not deep/open enough that I can scrub the dirt out. So now I have lovely little black crack lines over my nails. Maybe in a few days the cracks will get big enough to at least remove the dirt.
Bottom line... these people are dishonest, their equipment is dirty, apparently they do not even keep a stock of items they need, so if they run out you might get a crappy substitute. And most important of all... they are completely dishonest. If you are going to spend money to get your nails done... spend it somewhere else. Good luck!
Cons: Poor service, dirty, dishonest
