DO NOT USE THIS BUISNESS!\r \r The manager is terrible. I came in and requested them to remove my gel polish and then repaint it. She had me choose a color. She asked me numerous times if I would also like a pedicure. I told her that I did not have time to do both and that I would just get my nails done. She claimed they were running a special and the pedicures were all discounted. I said that I still did not have time and I did not care for one. She said that she had two people available and the pedicure would not add any time because they would do both together. I agreed that I could do the pedicure if they could get them both done at the same time. She sent me back to the chair and said she would pick a toe nail polish to match my Shellac. \r \r I went back to the chair and two people started working on my hands and toes. About 3 minutes later other customers came in and she pulled one of the technicians to go help them. I was upset and felt this was rude. I the manager would send the next available person to do my nails so that they would be finished on time as promised. I was mistaken. She did not send another person even though they were available. Then when they started painting my toes I realized that the manager had chosen a blue and that they would not match the purple I had picked out for my nails. I told my technician and she claimed that it just looked different in the bottle and it would match my nails. Meanwhile the manager continued to send her technicians to work on entering customers and she made me wait till my technician was done with my toes until starting my nails. When she started my nails with the color I had picked she said that it did not match I agreed and told her that I was trying to explain I wanted purple earlier. Her solution was to find a Shellac to match the blue on my toes that I did not even like. I agreed because I needed to be finished. \r \r When checking out I explained my frustrations to the manager and she tried to blame it on the technician even though the problem was caused by her. I was there for 2 and a half hours and did not even get my nails painted the color I had wanted. I told her I would never come back! more

I have been going to this place since it opened. I loved going there! It had everything, friendly service, some of the best massages to go with your pedicure. But then the new owners came in. The woman is so rude, she refused to let me pay with my card because she saw I had enough cash in my wallet. Hello?! Why are you looking in my wallet, and I have plans for that cash! That's exactly why I wanted to pay with card. They rush you along, like you are on a convery belt. I got THE worst manicure, the woman wouldn't even listen to me when I asked her to do something. She rushed right through it and refused to fix my nail that SHE hit, and smudged. I am so sad this wonderful place has turned so horrible. Never going back again. more

I've tried all the nail salons in the Richmond area and settled a few years ago on AMC Nails & Spa. So I was a little nervous when the business was sold in early summer of 2011. But don't be afraid. The new owners have kept the same great service, the nail technicians are the same and happy with the change, and there are MORE AMENITIES THAN EVER!! Come on Monday or Tuesday and there are fruit platters and cookies and nuts for snacking. Wonderful foot and leg massages with BRAND NEW MASSAGE CHAIRS. Very relaxing atmosphere, the latest in nail techniques and friendly, competent new owners which are also the managers. You still CAN'T GO WRONG WITH AMC NAILS! more

My sister raved about this place. I just moved to the Houston area and she lives very close to this Spa so I had hoped this would become a monthly ritual for us both. Not so much. It was probably one of the poorer pedicures I've had. Polish, price and experience while there was fine (nice massage chairs and atmosphere - albeit the smell of acrylics was very strong) but I realized after getting home that little to no callus had been removed. My feet looked as if I had not had a pedicure at all. When I went back the next day to have them re-do the callus removal (the biggest part of the pedicure for me is callus removal), all I got was dirty looks and eventually someone telling me that if they took any more off, my foot would bleed. As if. But of course now I didn't feel safe letting them back at my feet. Too bad... they just lost what would probably have been a monthly customer. more

Myself and two girlfriends were there June 23, 2010 and we found the service to be wonderful - the new manager, Donna was a delight, our pedi and mani were attended to by delightful attendants, this was my third time there personally and the first for my two girlfriends. We all had a glass of white wine, and the massage chairs you sit in during your pedi are AMAZING! The environment is so relaxing with a Greek theme - pillars, gorgeous inlaid tile work on the floor, everything is so beautiful! Our nails were done to perfection and we were not rushed but encouraged to stay to enjoy the massage chairs while our nails dried. We left feeling so pampered - we are going to make this our Mother's day out place every month! Loved it!!! They even have tons of parking right out front! To me, most nail salons I have been to are just about all the same, however, my eyes have been opened to a whole new experience a couple of weekends ago.\r \r My friend Tabatha and her husband recently moved into a new house in the area, so I went to check out their house 2 weekends ago. Tabatha and I were both in dire need of some girl time and mani/pedis. Leaving our kids to the hubbies, we drove around trying to find a salon and came across AMC Nail Salon. It looked clean enough so we gave it a shot. Boy, am I glad we did! What an experience! \r \r I fell in love with the soothing ambience of the salon. I loved the chandelier, light fixtures on the wall, Roman theme and the little butterfly pedi chairs for little kids. I’ve never seen so many pedi/massage chairs in a nail salon, yet they managed to fill them all up. \r \r Although they were very busy, the manager managed to squeeze my friend and me in. We had to wait about 15 minutes, which we didn’t mind given the fact that we didn’t have appointments, and there were complimentary refreshments. When it was our turn, I noticed my technician’s gentleness as she scrubbed and massaged my feet. She was a sweet lady who seemed to pay great attention to detail. I came into this salon as a stranger and left feeling like I’ve gone here for years! \r \r From reading the review below, I guess the old management was horrible, but recently, they were bought out by new owners. I feel as though this salon, under new management, is headed in the right direction. This was far from a bad experience. I will DEFINITELY return to this salon. AMC is right across the street from my neighborhood and so despite the review that I read on citysearch, I decided to give this place a try. I have to say that my experience at AMC was fantastic. The service was phenomenal. They catered to whatever I needed and asked for. I absolutely love the already chilled wine glasses and champagne. I did ask the ladies who worked there about the manager that was referred to in the previous review and they said that he does not work there anymore. I met the manager the day I got my nails done and she is the sweetest lady ever! I plan to continue going to AMC as long as I live across the street. I already plan to book my bridal party spa day at AMC in the very near future. Pros: Great Service!!! more

I wrote a previous review about how horrible the management was at the salon. I'm so happy that they now have new management!!! I've been a couple times since and can tell a world of difference! The staff seem happier and the new manager is very nice. YAY! Pros: Great atmosphere, good pricing and NEW MGMT!! Cons: Prior manager was horrible, but new management is great! more
