My layers were growing out, my head felt heavy, and i couldnt manage my hair anymore so i tied my hair up everyday. I needed a hair cut real bad. The problem was I have a hard time finding a stylist because im so picky with my hair and the only person i trusted with my hair cut was someone down in Georgia. So i did some research online and came across Amy, She had such great reviews i had to give her a try. At first i wasnt sure whether its a good idea but after the cut, i couldnt be more pleased, happy and satisfied. She really did a great and awesome job. I love my hair ~!!!!!! and so does my bf... hes been complimenting the whole day... I would recommend Amy to all my friends and I would definitely come back to her again ~ because i think i just found myself the BEST Hair STYLIST ! Pros: Iistens closely to everything you say... You can finally relax! 7/11/2009

Amy knows what she is doing! She understands that you just can't cut curly hair the same way you cut straight hair. She understands what so many of us with curly hair have gone through and she works hard to make you feel comfortable. She will listen to everything you have to say and she will take the time to explain what she is doing and why. Amy goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are taken care of and are happy. I'm amazed at how great my curls can look with so little effort on my part. more

I'm 43 and picky about my hair. Amy is among my very favorite hairdressers (only two others of my lifetime live up to her!). She gets hair- how it curls, how it moves, how it frames each face, how it dries. She cares and wants me to be happy. She totally listens and happily looks at photos to understands your wants and then helps you translate how the look will work with your face and hair. I love her space and the privacy and the ease of scheduling. Pros: Listens, understands, talented, patient more

Amy is the best! 2/27/2009

Having your hair cut by Amy is a treat. My hair is wavy and only needs shampooing and combing if it is cut correctly. She listens to how you want your hair to look and proceeds accordingly . She is accomplished; she is professional; she is a delight! If you like a razor cut, Amy is the stylist for you. I have been looking for 5 years for someone who can cut curly/wavy hair. Today was my third hircut by Amy and I cannot recommend her highly enough . more

The only one I trust 2/7/2009

After getting a few bad haircuts, I found Amy and I'm staying! Amy understands my hair, the way it pulls up when it dries, the way layers sit, how to make it fuller without it being one round poof or looking like the triangle-head from Dilbert. I don't describe very well what I want, but she always knows what I mean and always does it well. Besides getting my best haircuts from Amy, she is a very nice and creative person, so she's fun to be around. Once you try, you'll see what I mean! Pros: Amy is starting a program to give your old products to those less fortunate, and, while she sells products, she doesn't push products Cons: For a student budget, the price may be a little high, but i find it's worth it every time. more

Spectactular Service and Great Hair! 2/5/2009

Amy is an amazing hair stylist. She does a phenomenal job with curly hair and knows how to deal with the craziness of my curls. I am always happy with my haircut and it looks great as it grows out as well. She also is a master of hair color and takes the time to help you figure out what hair color works best for you and your skin tone. She also does a great job with eyebrow waxing. If you need any of these services, Amy is the person to go to! You leave looking great and having had a great time chatting with Amy as well. I am most excited to be going back again! more

Finally, A Haircut That's Me 1/14/2009

I've been looking for someone that could give me a good cut and color and I found that talent in Amy. She is an artist taking into account her whole canvas. She's patient and listens and makes suggestions while considering my input as well. I have short wavy hair and she gave me a cut that feels like me. It's cute, fresh, hip and takes about 5 years off my age. I love the Italian herbal hair color line that she uses. It leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. It's also important to me tthat my hair designer be someone that I enjoy spending time with since I go every three weeks. Amy is warm and nurturing and pleasant to chat with. Thanks Amy! more

Amy is an artist 1/10/2009

I moved to Boulder, Colorado in July, but I refuse to find a new hairstylist because I can't imagine trusting anyone as much as I trust Amy. She was my hairstylist for the 5 years I lived in Columbus. In my opinion, she is truly an artist. She looks at the whole picture of a person - their lifestyle, their dress, their facial features to create a look that naturally and atractively fits the individual. I am very particular about my hairstyle, but I always hate the forced look of a ""haircut"". Amy knows how to take a sculpted look from a magazine and turn it into something natural and (as far as I'm concerned) glamorous. more

I Actually Like My Hair Now 12/22/2008

I survived the 80's (just barely) with big hair that wasn't TRYING to be big. So you can imagine how many bad haircuts I've had, and how many times I've left in tears because someone tried to blowdry my curls and I could see the horror on her face as my hair just got bigger and frizzier . . . Pros: Great location, and it's easy to schedule day & time that works! more

Your Curls Will POP!! 12/13/2008

This is by far the best haircut I have every gotten! I have 3c/4a type ringlets and coils that I usually spend up to 2 hours to perfectly style...and of course a head full of frizz. Not only did she talk WITH me about what I wanted to achieve she took the time to SHOW me what she was trying to do to make an overall look. I have several different ways in which I can style my hair in less than 30 mins. I recommend her to those with curly and straight hair. Perfect location and set-up. And if you want a massage, manicure, or waxing you can stay there and go to another loft. Pros: Ample parking, great service & ambience, master stylist. Cons: NONE! more

Curly Hair Queen 12/11/2008

I followed Amy from Akada Salon to the Lofts. No one takes care of me like Amy. I don't ever feel pressured to have ideas about what I want done. She always has suggestions I trust and always makes me feel and look like a million bucks. I have had plenty of horrible experiences with people who say they know curly hair, even went for well over a year with out so much as a trim for fear of more damage being done to my hair. I have been with Amy for over 4 years and I will follow her anywhere! My sister feels the same, and comes into town from North Carolina planning her trips around when she needs her hair done. There is no substitute for Amy! Pros: Location, nice to be able to park easier than Akada, and go have a beer next door afterwards. Cons: None! more

Phenomenal Talent! 12/10/2008

I am very particular about my hair in terms of the highlights/color I get and the cut. I am willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money if it means that I can get the results that I want. I have found someone who is EXTREMELY talented at both color and cutting. And the beauty is that her prices are reasonable. Amy does such a phenomenal job with the scissors and really takes time and listens to what you want. She also promises that if you do NOT like what she has done---you can come back at any time--no questions asked. more

Unbelievable!!!!!! 12/9/2008

Wow, what an experience I had with Amy. I have curly hair that was badly damaged by boxed hair color. I knew better than to use that stuff, but got in a rut and didn't spend the time or money on myself. Well, that is all going to change now after meeting Amy. She is very precise and when she was done, I couldn't believe it was me that I was staring at in the mirror. The hair color and cut was amazing. Amy is a miracle worker and I can't wait to go back. Curly hair God-send! 12/4/2008

I have struggled with my curly hair for 26 years, never really finding a stylist who could do much more than give it long layers and hope for the best. After reading the reviews of Amy on here, I decided to try her out and, yesterday, I left her salon feeling like a new woman! I have never had a hair STYLE before. My hair has more bounce and shape than ever before. If you have curly hair and want to experience something life-altering, make an appointment to see Amy and I am sure you will not leave disappointed! I will recommend Amy to anyone and everyone! An artist in her chosen profession! 12/2/2008

I found Amy on the Columbus City Search engine last year and have never been happier with my curly hair cut and style. Amy is the only stylist I have ever found who knows how to cut and layer my thick and heavy hair in a way to bring all my curls out from hiding! I am amazed at her talent and tell her she is more than a hair stylist, she is an artist with her methods of hair styling and color! Anyone who has trouble managing their curly locks should give Amy a try. As the previous reviewer stated, she is totally amazing! I also must mention that the color she uses on my hair keeps it soft and natural looking. She also sells Eufora hair care products and they are by far the best I have ever used to maintain healthy and beautiful color treated hair! Amy is one of the most amazing hair stylists I've ever been to. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the idea of having my mother's hairstylist cut my hair, but I will never have anyone else cut my hair. I have long straight hair and I've never known what to do with it but Amy has great taste and style; she always has suggestions and new ideas where the end result is always perfect. She is brilliant at what she does and makes the experience overall more enjoyable. Also, I really liked that the location is very convenient, being so close to my school, OSU. Awesome curly hair cut! 11/16/2008

I am very picky about who cuts my curly hair and I was excited to go to Amy after reading all the reviews about her. She was wonderful. She explained her products and how she was going to cut my hair. She listened to what I like/don't like and gave me the perfect cut. It's exactly what I was looking for! I've been going to Amy for at least 5 years. Tired of the mammoth salons in town, I was fortunate to find Amy. She is talented and creative. She listens. She's seen me through long, short, and in between cuts. And I always adore the way she handles my color. I've never felt like I was in a rut - which is what usually happens after I've been going to someone for years. Sometimes I bring in an idea, other times I rely on Amy's creativity. Best stylist in Columbus 11/8/2008

I have been going to Amy for over ten years. When she left her former salon, I was panicked, but then I found her again at Salon Lofts. It is a great place- a good location with plenty of parking, and a very upbeat atmosphere. Amy knows just what will look right on each person, but still asks a lot of questions to make sure her vision is in line with yours. I totally trust her - if she says let's try a little different twist, it always comes out looking great. She is great with color and with cuts, and lots of fun to boot. She is truly the best stylist I've ever had. You won't regret going to Amy. more

Amy knows hair! 11/3/2008

When I first moved to Columbus 3 years ago I went through a lot of hairdressers and none of them could color or cut the way I wanted. Upon first meeting and talking with Amy I knew I was in good hands. She immediately brought out color swatches and listened to how I wanted my hair colored and styled. The results were AMAZING. I not only love my hair but get completed on it on a daily basis. She really takes the time to get to know you and to make you feel comfortable. I highly recommed Amy to anyone. more
