An angel from Los Angeles, my cat Chi' Bois, nickname, "Chibby" had a broken leg. Since she had a complete break, I was afraid when I found her that she would be maimed for life. I wanted a vet who was caring and could help Chibby's fracture heal. I also needed someone affordable. It took me three weeks in the rainy season in February of this year to find the right place. I contacted about a dozen veterinarians looking at the reviews on Yelp and quickly discovered that many of the veterinarians I visited were either too expensive or their procedures did not make real sense. I had done my homework and researched how to fix her leg. On my last try, I contacted Dr. Kumar at Ambassador Dog & Cat Hospital. I was concerned about the reviews on Yelp, but I had had a positive experience with Ambassador several years before. When I called, his staff put Dr. Kumar on the phone immediately. Dr. Kumar suggested that I send over her x-rays that I had already had taken. After reviewing them with Dr. Gurai, the orthopaedic veterinarian to whom he refers such cases, Dr. Kumar gave me a fee quote the next day. I then requested an office visit, as I was very impressed. When I arrived, the staff showed genuine interest in Chibby. Dr. Kumar examined her, charging a minimal fee of approximately $50. When I still was not certain about an operation, Dr. Kumar continued to answer my every question--even after I left and contacted him by phone! When I made the decision for the operation, Dr. Gurai was going out of town in three days. He actually scheduled the operation over the weekend so he could take care of Chibby before he lefft. After the operation, Dr. Kumar gave Chibby medications, including them in the cost of her operation. When she came for the follow up appointment, there was again no additional charge. My dog has been treated here a few times, had him neutered here and vaccined. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Hospital is organized, sanitary, and the doctor's are generous and caring. I've had only good experiences at Ambassador, so 5 stars! more

i just returned from getting booster shots for one of my rescue dogs. the vet tech who administered the shots, jose, was nimble and dextrous, as is required for my sensitive, intuitive victrola dog, who was doing his best to evade him. more

Not too long of a wait for walk-in service, but would still prefer if appointments can be made. Love the vaccine discounts on Saturdays, it really is a great deal and the only reason why I decided to come to this place. On top of that, they gave me a complimentary first visit, which saved me more money! Great experience and value overall! more
