If I could give a negative rating, I would. By all means, do not go there, they are taking you for an ATM machine and they deliver a care that is way below the par! My cat Ed has one of his idiopathic cystitis crisis and got blocked. My Banfield vet being gone for the week, I drove him to All about pets since when we moved in the area I did not know where to go and took one of my cats there once for a upper respiratory infection... \r \r But wait for it: Just to take an X-ray a blood test and a urinalysis, anesthetize him, put a catheter in his bladder and keep him 2 days (no surgery) I was presented with a 1200$ bill! Yes TWELVE HUNDRED BUCKS! (And it was not at night or during a weekend) and none of the affectionate care they receive at Banfield Citrus heights.\r \r This is not very very bright from them because I have 3 cats so they could have made a lot of money with me provided they would have been less greedy this time. French have a good expression for that ""Cutting off the branch you are sitting on"" They have lost me for good and worse, I am all over the internet telling my story so they will lose some more Yelpers!\r \r Avoid this place by all means they are crooks. more

I have been taking my dogs to Dr Zucca at All About Pets for over 20 years. I have had animals all of my life (a considerable number of years since I am 82) and I have never encountered any vet who was more caring and genuinely concerned with providing the highest quality of care. Dr Zucca sits on the floor to examine the dogs rather than putting them in a scary position up on a metal table. She plays with them and talks to them lovingly all the while explaining to them and me what she is going to do. She has been with me at least 4 or 5 times when I have had a dog who needed to be put to sleep. She always gives me time to say goodbye. I have recently aquired a black lab who is not only high energy, but highly excitable. Dr Zucca has offered, as usual with a new puppy, several different strategies to use for training. She demonstrates techniques and makes sure that I understand what to do to properly train my new puppy. Last year she saved my daughter's dog after she developed an auto-immune disorder. It took heroic efforts on her part as well as all of the techs. She had 24 hour care and the techs could not have been more caring if she had been their own dog. Consequently Punkin is always excited to make a trip to the vet and still receives love and praise from everyone there when she shows up healthy and happy. Three years ago I moved more than 20 miles away from All About Pets. While there is a very prominent vet hospital as well as numerous vets near me, I would never consider leaving Dr Zucca. I have referred numerous people to her who are also very satisfied. I will continue to have Dr Zucca as my vet as well as refer new people to her. On the rare occassion that I have had to see another vet at All About Pets when Dr Zucca was on vacation, I have found them to be caring and competent as well. more

I have been to some awful clinics in the past, this is NOT one of them. I have seen the ridiculous ""cookie cutter"" clinics who seem to care more about making money than they care about the actual pets. Dr. Zucca and her staff are incredible and when I recently visited them they once again surprised me with how caring they are, I visited them on a really warm day and when I was led into an exam room the technician not only asked me if she could turn on the fan,or get an extra chair for my wife, but she also offered to get my panting pup a bowl of water. When I said that would be great she returned and really paid attention to him, you can really tell that the staff treats our pets as if they were their own. PLEASE do yourself and your pets a favour, run, don't walk to All About Pets. more

i have been to many vets over the years but All About Pets and Dr. Zucca are far and away the absolute best. She and the other vets are extremely knowledgeable on a wide variety of animals. i have taken my chickens, ducks, turkey, rabbit, and cats there and received excellent, caring treatment. Dr. Zucca has always been very good at providing a number of treatment options, so i can choose what works best for our budget while still providing excellent care for my pets. Their prices are reasonable and they are always willing to go the extra mile to help any animal in need. i have several ""difficult"" cats that no other vet or groomers were able to handle. Dr. Zucca calms them right down and is able to perform exams and treatment without sedation. Arian in grooming is also excellent at dealing with these problem kids. All the staff, from vets, to techs, to receptionists, to groomers are professional, courteous, kind, and caring. more

We have 4 cats and 3 pet chickens (hens) - and ""All About Pets"" was the only Veterinarian facility I could find in the Sacramento area that would care for my hens. It has been 6 years since we first visited and still visit to this day. Dr. Zucca was the first Dr. we took our hens to, and have seen other Dr's on duty as well. We have been very pleased with the professional, loving care every single time and the fees are very reasonable. We are so very pleased to have this compassionate staff to care for our critters! Everyone there has a warm personality and the 'techs' in the back are angels. We love everyone there at ""All About Pets"" and so do our hens and cats! more

You can find a vet who is competent and professional. It's harder to find a place where the docs and staff go the extra mile and really truly love their patients (and their patient's owners). We have a long history with All About Pets and have had only good experiences. Our beloved Bichon developed a tricky and chronic problem-- hard to diagnose. Dr. Zucca stayed with this thing until it was completely fixed and we finally had our little guy back better than ever. We were more stressed than than the dog-- and Dr. Zucca treated all of us with great kindness. This is the kind of business you want to tell others about because you believe in them. more

I have been taking my pets there for over 2 years now. The vets are great and the staff is more than helpful. I recommend all of my friends and family to go here always, they treat you like family! more

We've had over 17 years of great experience taking our pets here. Dr. Zucca and her entire staff have taken excellent care of our dogs and cat. Our cat was brought in near death after eating ribbon and due to the care they provided was brought back to great health and lived to be over 18. Our dogs have thrived as a result of the annual check-ups and procedures provided. They love the treats they get too! The best surgeons, acupuncturists, vet techs, lab work and office. All About Pets deserves the highest recommendation because they've earned it. more

The vets here only care about money and how many tests they can get you to pay for. They do not even look in your file to read anything. They charge extra for an appointment if it is not scheduled ahead **emergency fee** (Sorry if I do not schedule my dog's illnesses). There are so many other quality vets in the area that I do not see why these guys stay in business. more

These people care about our 4 legged ""kids"" and give them the kind of care a pediatrician would a child. Caring and helpful at all times. I have been using them for over 15 years now and have been through some rough times with a Yorkie that had heart issues, a Pomeranian with knee issues, and another dog and bird as well. I would bring my pets to no other vet unless these went out of business. Their grooming people are outstanding as well. I highly recommend them to anyone that asks. i took my cats here after the vca failed to realize my cat was pregnant after supposwedely doing blood work. all about pets is caring and i like that the vet explains to you everything that is going on and even gives you literature to take home. this is the only vet i will take my cats to. more

I have taken all three of my rodents to see the vets at this place. All three of the vets have been kind, caring and knowledgeable with and about my rodenrs. Each of the vets has taken the time to explain what the symptoms mean and the various options available. When one of my rodents needed to be euthanized, the vet took the time make it as stressless as possible. Less than a week later I received a card in the mail signed by the entire office staff. They are open on Saturdays for no extra charge. Even though their office is quite a distance away it is worth the drive. I would not take my rodents any other place. It is so very sad that animals that may be able to be fixed are euthanized in these tough economic times because owners, although loving their pets very much,cannot afford to provide their pets with the diagnostics or care they need. We counsel owners in this situation to please wait until they are more financially stable before they get another pet. I know these are difficult words for difficult times. We are here to save pets and help owners live long and healthy lives with their pets. No matter the case, we try never to give up more

I took my cat in for an emergency visit based off a recommendation from a friend. My cat was very ill and they did all of the standard tests. They wouldn't even guess or give me any inclination of what it may be. My cat proceeded to get worse as they racked up more tests and more cost. I finally made an appointment to end her suffering. The techs asked me if I had been there at least 4 times and were very rude and short staffed. When I met with the vet she said I was giving up and the hundreds of dollars that I already spent was not good enough. She spent 15 minutes telling me that I should not get another pet and this cat was loosing her life because of me. She never once offered a solution and she asked if I had done a viral test- Which I had done there!!! She never even looked at the file. My cat was starving to death and miserable. As I was loosing a member of my family she showed no empathy at all only blame. I then asked her to stop as tears were running down my face. She continued to lecture. As I held my cat in my arms to say goodbye crying, and very angry She proceeded to say Can I take her yet. She tried to recover every time by saying, well I know how you feel. It was the worst experience of my life and I have been to multiple vets with more class and experience. Don't waste your money. If you want your animals to be treated well go to the Missouri Flat Pet Clinic in Placerville, It may be a drive, however they are the most compassionate understanding people I have ever met. I have had pets my whole life, and I even have a special needs dog. There is no limit to what I will do for my pets, however doing surgery and torturing an already suffering cat is not on my list. How dare she treat me the way she did. Cons: horrible customer service more

We took our cat in to be treated and scheduled a follow up for the next week. That same evening our cat passed away and I called All About Pets the next morning to cancel the follow up telling them my cat passed away. Lo and behold I get a call the day before to remind me of my follow up appointment . more

I've been doing my rotations at all about pets and I must say they are very good there. Unlike some hospitals they do not put your animal under Anasthia and forget about them. This hospital watches them very carefully doing a temp test and watching their heart rate. Heather and Lynda are great dvm's. Most of the vet tech's are very good also. Friendly hospital for the most part. I highly suggest taking your animals to them. Pros: Great hoospital and most of their employees are great Cons: I don't really know of any more

I have gone to this vet clinic since I moved to Carmichael in 04. I moved to Rancho in 07 and will still drive the extra miles to get here. They have always been very helpful. I have a cat that has had UTI after UTI after UTI and they really try to get to the bottom of the issue. My cat was diagnosed with cancer last week and Dr Graves had as much urgency in her as I had in me to get the next steps in treatment going for my cat. My cat is having the surgery today to get the cancer removed. I trust them with my cats which are my heart and have all the faith in the world in them. I recommend them often.
