I have recommended airco to a number of people 1/17/2012

In fact, I have recommended airco to a number of people. I like the straight forward attitude of Stewart Thompson and the willingness of the technician's to share information and show me what they do (Armando Perez). more

Thank you so much! 1/16/2012

Thank you so much! Our system has been working so well in this hot weather since the installation. Teo & David were the installers and were just great! Wes Stearns was great for helping take care of an emergency we had. The service couldn't be better and we couldn't be happier with AircoMechanical. more

TERRIBLE INSTALLATION-DON'T USE THESE GUYS! 11/22/2011

THIS was the WORST experience with any company we have ever had, (well, this and CCCarpet, but this cost us extremely much more!). They sold us an over the top Lennox system which, not only did we not need, because they said, they could provide it at the same price of the system the home size called for, BUT, what they didn't tell us is that it wouldn't work with our entire home electric system to the unit.. Because we had aluminum wiring to my Furnace and A/C unit, they just disconnected (cut the live wires and left loose) the actual heating units in the furnace, disconnected the emergency heat option in the thermastat, the power box next to the furnace was barely hanging on the wall and could be flopped around and ALL the wiring you could see outside (and now inside) the furnace was a JOKE! Not to mention, because the unit they sold us was too much for our home, every winter when it got cold enough for the heat to kick on, it would trip the breaker outside. So, not only would we wake up freezing in a cold home, I would have to go outside every night, in freezing weather, to flip the breaker to try to get the heat on again. Repated calls to them did nothing, and even when I was signed up to get their annual service as required by the warranty, they wouldn't come. They said it was our problem because the house had aluminum wiring to the unit, and that we would have to have it all replaced at our expense, though they never said anything about it before, during or after the install, only after having repeated problems. Because of all their problems, they acutally shut down for several years, (5 to 8 years we believe) we imagine from repeated law suits and problems, especially from the city (as they WERE a COA approved provider) and now we see they've reopened, but it's the same owner and people, so PLEASE BEWARE and USE SOMEONE ELSE, ANYONE ELSE! Their installers where also a bunch of 20 somethings that really didn't care and did very shoddy work, which was never checked nor inspected by a licensed contractor with Airco - never saw anyone from Airco after the inexperienced installed it. They even broke my stairway up to my attack by letting a 300 lb. mexican go up and down it, though it clearly shows a 200 lb. limit. As the other reviewer wrote, we too are paying for a system we had installed years ago and have had to spend thousands on repairs and now are having to replace the entire system by a REAL HVAC company after 9 years of headaches and NO ACTION on the part of Airco. We actually have someone here right now showing us all the shoddy work they did. Who leaves live wires loose in the furnace with no caps or protection on them?? This is why I felt compelled to finally write this review on a poorly run company. We feel like they owe us a whole new system, but try to get anything out of them once they leave! Use them, you'll see!! more

Terrific A/C Installation Experience 9/27/2011

The folks at Airco Mechanical of Austin did a terrific job proposing and installing a Carrier A/C and Furnace system, including the planning, configuring, installation and testing phases. Every step of the process was performed precisely as was presented in their proposal by Stuart, their sales representative, who also has extensive industry knowledge. Stuart also oversaw the installation work to ensure that his efficient layout was followed by the great installation crew. We highly recommend Airco Mechanical for their professional and efficient service. Ken D. more

New A/C System @ at a great price & great service 6/14/2010

I recently had a new Lennox A/C system (heat pump) installed at a my house by Airco Mechanical after they serviced my old system several times. I got great service and advise from their sales rep Stuart Thompson and the price I paid after all rebates and the federal tax credit is too low to mention here. I had worked with another local company before and the experience was not good. Anyways, I would highly recommend Stuart. He'll take care of you before and after the sale. Pros: Great price more

Great Service! 6/27/2007

I live in an apartment next to UT and my complex used Airco to fix our leaking A/C unit. Someone called me in the morning to schedule a ""time"" (sometime that day-they'd call me 30 minutes before they came). Pros: Extremely nice service technician more

talk less to the technician 3/7/2007

I recently got a water softener installed. when i called to get the rates, they told me the first hour would be $80 and then subsequent hours will be $70 . but when the guy came in, he charged $80 for the first 30 minutes, in which all he did was talk. When i called the company back they told me this is their rate. There was a conflict between the people there.\r \r Also if you stay to talk with them, they love to keep talking, but you are gonna end up paying for it. Once they finish the job, it takes them another 15 minutes to write up the invoice. The technician finished up the job in 45 minutes and then started to talk for 15 minutes and on top of that charged me an additional 15 minutes for writing the invoice.\r \r In short they like to squeeze the money out of you. You don't just pay for the work they do, but also for them to write invoice and talk, which they should not charge us for. \r \r I have had some work done by Handyman matters and they tell you everything and then just befor more
