Consistently a great haircut 7/23/2006

Ive been getting my hair cut by Adrian ever since I moved to the City. He consistently does a great job. He listens and interprets my vague ideas and produces a great cut every time. Ive never been disappointed. His online appointment system is great and very easy to use. I love the waiting list feature and can often get in quickly for an appointment if he has a cancellation. The new space in Union Square is cool too. I love getting my haircut with Adrian. You will too. Pros: Appoitment System more

Talented, friendly, relaxed atmosphere 7/22/2006

Ive been going to Adrian for over a year and, in my life, Ive never had better, more consistent haircuts. Hes a skilled artist with the scissors, very knowledgeable, and an extremely nice guy. Professional and serious, while relaxed at the same time. Ive watched him approach every cut with a fresh perspective. His studio is in a funky, extremely comfortable space, which is quite comfortable and completely unpretentious. Highly Recommended. Pros: easy appointment scheduling, great service more

GREAT STYLIST 7/20/2006

Adrian is the best stylist I have ever had. He is consultative and very artistic. He really listens and makes you feel very comfortable in his hands. Not only does he do a great job, but you don't have to entertain him...I have been exhausted by stylists that yap the ENTIRE time. With Adrian, you can just sit back, relax, and be sure that you will be taken care of. more

Master at work! 7/10/2006

Adrian is a master stylist, he's at the top of his game and continues to keep up on the newest products and techniques. I've never had more beautiful hair, the color is perfect, exactly what I wanted. He really listens to his clients and has the expertise to give you what your heart desires. You'll leave the salon floating on air. Pros: Great products, Expert cut and color, mellow atmosphere Cons: A little hard to find at first, (street elevator, small sign)but well worth the effort! more

A Master of Color! 7/9/2006

My hair was overprocessed, unhealthy and needed a complete rework. After a detailed consult with Adrian, where he explained what he was going to do to bring my hair back to life, I had tears of joy when I saw the finished product. I finally found a talented colorist and stylist in San Francisco! So ladies, I recommend him 100%. Not to mention it's incredibly easy to make online appointments or appointments by phone through his 24/7 call center. Pros: Funky decor, great energy, convenient downtown location Cons: Little street parking, but an inexpensive garage in the next block at Sutter/Stockton. more

Adrian is a hair genius. 'Nuff said. 6/26/2006

When you go to a hairstylist like Adrian, you become suddenly aware of how the truly talented cosmetologists combine a high knowledge and talent of chemistry and artistry relating to hair. Adrian is a combination of a scientist and artist. He actually wholeheartedly listens to your suggestions, doesn't just pretend like a lot of stylists who then go ahead and do whatever they'd like (often to dissapointingly disastrous results), and takes you through the process and technique he envisions before he begins. Adrian makes sure you are on the exact same page and then explains the pros and cons of different techniques and color lines. He is on the cutting edge of the learning curve when it comes to all products and new techniques. You can immediately see his passion and enthusiasm for what he does and is clearly a perfectionist. On top of that, he is just a genuinely very nice person. I've been searching for years for the perfect stylist, I've been to all the top salons in San Francisco, and I am so glad I am finally happy with my hair - as I am a perfectionist myself. I've been to him several times now and am so happy. I'll stop gushing now, but my hair is so awesome! Just go and see Adrian! I guarantee you will not be disappointed. more

Adrian delivers! 6/20/2006

I chose Adrian after reading his reviews here and visiting his web site (His online booking is genius.) Once I was in his chair, he listened carefully and offered creative ideas for a whole new look that I never could have imagined. I cant describe what he did but now the highlights and color show through from under my dark hair, and there are no roots to watch grow out! It looks amazing as my hair moves; because it looks different every way it falls but it always looks great. No more bad hair days! Thanks Adrian! He has done several different colors on my hair and no matter if it is Paris Hilton blonde or some low lights - he does such an amazing job and I am never dissapointed. I always have something in mind and he runs with it and does a beautiful job, I thought I would never find a stylist in the bay area but I finally found Adrian and he is fantastic! more

Adrian is a color, cut and style master. I have the craziest head of thick, wavy hair- a challenge to even the most talented stylist. Adrian took the time to understand what I wanted from my hair as well as my overall look, and had the talent to execute on the vision. I've never had a better style in my life. more

I searched for someone great with highlights and color, and i found Adrian i went, expecting to be traumatized the way I'd been in my previous attempts at other stylists' salons, but i was thrilled before, during, and after. Adrian was reassuring and skillful, and my hair color looks better than it ever has. I highly recommend Adrian. more

Adrian Ewell is amazing. As usual I waited until the last minute then had to scramble because my usual stylist was out. I lucked into an appointment with Adrian, who gave me a great cut and highlight. He listened, took time to understand my love/hate relationship with my hair and I am incredibly happy. Adrian Rocks My World!! 5/8/2006

Adrian is so amazing. He always takes the time to sit with me and consult about what I want in my hair cut. This way I never have that horrible shock at the end of the cut. I always know what is coming and I always love it. I am in an industry were having a cutting edge look is very important. I can always rely on Adrian for this and a hair cut that works well with my very difficult hair. I highly recommend him for anyone who wants a great haircut and a stylist you totally trust. more

After quitting my previous hairstylist, a friend recommended Adrian at Headlights. I liked him from the get-go. His relaxed attitude made me feel comfortable which isn't all that easy when it comes to my hair! He gave me the best color I have ever had and I love the haircut he gave me. I recommended him to my husband and he says Adrian gave him the best haircut he has ever had. I thank him for making my husband look so hot! more

Adrian is that rare breed: an experienced stylist and an exquisite colorist who knows how to put his ego aside and focus on YOU! I particularly appreciate his knowledge and use of Schwarzkopf (and Igora) color. In addition to being very talented and sympatico, he's tach-savvy and you can book an appointment with him online, via phone or directly at the salon - 24/7. He makes it easy for you to look good! I just recently left a long relationship with a hair stylist to try out Adrian when he was at Headlights in Hayes Valley. I was looking for a new look and gave Adrian creative freedom on the cut and we worked together on the color! I just saw him for the second time and I LOVE MY HAIR! I get compliments on it all the time. It is very flattering to the shape of my face and easy to style. I really love that he gave me a cut with style that requires very little maintenance on my part. I am so excited that I took a chance on trying a new stylist. Adrian is fantastic! I'll be recommending him to everyone who is willing to listen! Natalia more

I've been going to see Adrian for about a year now, and he does a fabulous job all the time. He toned down my former white/blonde hair to something close to its natural color, and I couldn't be happier w/the results. He's very attentive; he really listens to what you want and offers good advice. He really takes time to make sure you leave happy and looking fabulous...and I always do! He makes it easy to set up an appt. too, w/online booking and and a round the clock phone service. He's super-nice, too! more
