Love this place for old photos, great furniture and some of the neatest re-purposed jewelry ever! (Buttons into rings??) True it is packed and hard to look at everything, I just make sure I walk thru twice! Once I look up and next I look down, works for me! My favorites are the old photos turned into greeting cards with hysterical captions. I always look to see if any of the photos are my crazy relatives! Check out this place! more

I am not sure how this store has ANY bad reviews, I have been here countless times over the past year and I love it. I moved to Salt Lake about a year and a half ago and I furnished my whole apartment from abode! (And I am a starving college student, so that should tell you how awesome their prices are!) I also consigned some earrings and a box of my grandma's clothes, and they were so honest and helpful! I got more than I expected, and there was never any issue with payment. I think its weird how people put things on consignment, move out of town, and then complain....its your job to check up on your things, people! That's in bold print in their consignment contract! more

Love the store and the beautiful jewelry and home accesories. Definitely have the vintage charm you could possibly want for a consignment store. Friendly and helpful store owners and employees. The store has many things to look at and always a treat to see!! Way to Go Abode!!! more

Abode is the home of THE funky, THE cool, THE retro, THE interesting consignment finds in town, and at great prices. BUT, they also have some big problems. Too much great stuff, for one. Do they ever send ANYthing home with their consignors? I keep seeing the same old stuff on the shelves for months - and years - now. Let's freshen it up, and get rid of that old junk that won't sell! You can't find the great stuff when there's so much run-of-the-mill stuff next to it. The store is so jam-packed with merchandise that two people can't even walk side by side down the aisle, and there's no way a stroller, let alone a wheelchair, could fit. ADA compliant they're NOT. Another problem is one employee who is consistantly rude to customers. And this isn't just from me, I hear it from other Abode customers also. Believe me, I totally love what Abode has to sell, but between the over-crowded shelves, aisles you can't walk through without having to step over stuff, and the crabby staff, I've started shopping elsewhere. I brought in a box of old books, and more sold than I thought in the 60 days, and Abode returned the books that didn't sell with no hassle at all. They even had records that I could look at of all the books, so I knew that I was getting treated fairly. I will definitely consign with Abode again! more

I have a friend in Sugarhouse who is up in arms with this place. Apparently he put his sofa and buffet on consignment sale with this store, before he moved out of town. He heard that one of the pieces sold, and he was due $60 from the sale. But after repeated phone calls and emails to collect, there is only silence from ABODE. Be very careful in doing business with this store. That kind of dishonesty when it comes to money is the last thing you want to abide, especially in an economy like this one. ABODE, clean up your act before word gets around and you go out of business. Pros: Not sure there is an upside to this Cons: You might not get paid for your consignment sale more
