My parents needed a security system for their house so I decided to go with ADT. I heard some good things about Alarm Force but the bottom line was that they didn't send police during an alarm. MHB Security, an ADT dealer, offered the most equipment compared to other dealers and they didn't try to sell me a system over the phone like some other dealers. more

Appalling service from ADT Security System . Lousy response to call-outs. Constantly having engineers out for find non-existant faults. Four hour wait for engineer to arrive. System keeps glitching. I will be doing everything to get rid of them from my premises and will never use them again. more

Apart from stating the obvious - it does what it should etc, I thought I'd write and tell you all about my experience of ADT. Living in London, I thought I'd have an alarm installed as as such contacted about 6 different companies to get quotes. I was really surprised to discover that ADT was the most cost effective out of them all. The reason for this is that my installation only cost ?299 which includes the Metropolitan Police Registration fee. The system was installed in about 5 hours with the minimum mess. I opted also for a combined smoke/C02 detector that alerts the alarm receiving centre if I have a fire/gas leak. Most quotes I got were around the ?900 mark plus the ?300 or so a year for maintenance and monitoring costs. The ADT package I got was around ?25/month which includes 2 service visits and full monitoring. more
