Horrible Service 12/14/2011

I paid $ 3600 for a complete transmission rebuild two months ago. It took them one day (!!) to call me to say the car was ready. I was surprised because it takes every other shop 3 to 4 days just to assemble , install and test the transmission. I found that out after all the research I have done in the past two months. Needless to say the transmission was doing the same thing as before, it slipped. Now they are treating it as warranty work on the back burner, with a rude receptionist, a unreachable owner. Unsatisfactory Experience 10/7/2011

Did not have a good experience here. Was told needed total rebuild, but only needed solenoid pack replaced. BE CAREFUL who you take your car to. more

I will be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about cars. I am so glad I found a place that treats me accordingly. They always tell me what they are going to do and why. They make sure to tell me what every charge is for so I know I'm not being charged for something I don't need. I would recommend them to anyone! more

Funny Noises 7/29/2011

My car was making funny noises that were starting to scare me. I thought it might be a good idea to go get it looked it. They guys at Aamco took a look and immediately knew what was wrong. They gave me a quote right then and there and it was such a good price I couldn't walk way. The process was so easy and everyone was so nice and helpful. And now...no more funny noises! more

A few weeks or so ago my car's water line burst and drained all water from my radiator. It was super scary to think my car was about to explode (or whatever it does when that happens lol). I was towed to here to AAMCO and not only was I greeted like a welcome neighbor, they really took care of my car! Awesome people, Awesome service. more

My fiance and I went to Atlanta for the weekend, and while driving back to the Colbert, our car tire hit an object in the road. It went flat, and we were stuck in the middle of the 15!!! Luckily, we were towed to AAMCO Transmission and Auto. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They didn't have the parts on hand, but they were able to order them from a distributor. They got us back out on the road in about an hour and a half. This is amazing service! Thank you, AAMCO, for helping us get back home at a reasonable time! more

The guys at Aamco were great. 7/14/2011

I had a problem with the transmission on my 2003 Mazda MPV. I took it to the Mazda dealership in town. Once they looked at it, they said that I needed to replace the transmission. I asked for an explanation why and was not given very good information on what the problem was. When pressed for an answer, the service consultant said that they would not diagnose the problem with the transmission -- rather they identified that there was a problem and the solution was to replace the entire thing, which I was told would cost $4,700. I said that was too much, so a day later I was told the price was $3,700. In the end, I was charged $140 for the dealership to tell me there was a problem with the transmission, which I already knew. Rather than have the dealer fix the transmission, I took the car to Aamco in Athens and they figured out that my transmission was fine. There was a problem with the transmission control module, which they replaced for less than $1,000 (much better than $4,700 or $ more

Pros\r -Owner is friendly and explains what they are going to do before they do it\r -Convenient downtown location\r -Same day service\r -They followed up (would never happen at a dealership, you just get those lousy postcards or automated voice questionnaires) and explained that online parts aren't covered under warranty or delivered in a timely fashion.\r -Excellent customer service more

Best Auto Shop In Athens 7/13/2011

This really is the best auto shop in Athens. I came in with a spewing radiator, serious doubts about my future in car-ownership, and a check engine light that had been on and stayed on through visits to multiple other repair shops. AAMCO gave me a new radiator/hoses, great customer service, and a new found hope in my car. I really appreciate the swift service, open communication, and really wonderful experience overall I had here. more

Great service provided. 7/8/2011

I took my car in for transmission problems.They fixed it under warranty. They put in my new transmission fast. I would call every few days asking the status of my car and Robbie, the supervisor, was nice enough to answer my questions every time. more

My Car Never Ran Better :) 6/27/2011

After my transmission was diagnosed defective by the VW dealer, they could not provide a cost effective, reliable solution. I was referred to AAMCO and Gary took my call on a Friday afternoon. My Jetta never ran better. more
