I was pleased with how I was treated when I first came to Kniesel's to have my vehicle looked at for over heating. They were quick to get the work done, however I found the price of the repairs a bit expensive for what was repaired. About two weeks later I had to go back in to Kniesel's for the same problem. This time the employee said this was not their fault even though it was the same over heating problem that now ended up ruining my engine. I was told I would have two years warranty on the original work done, but at first when I asked I was told this was not the case because the employee felt this was a different problem even though I originally came in for a over heating problem and the car was STILL over heating. It was disapointing to me that I had to come back in only two weeks later for the same problem that I had to spend $900.00 dollars to fix the original over heating only to find two weeks later that the car still was over heating and that this company had no other way to help me other than telling me I would need to buy a new engine which would cause me a tone of money. I had already spent a lot of money just to fix this car and find out it was a waste and the company only wanted me to spend even more, how could I trust this would work when it didn't work the first time.
RESPONSE FROM Kniesel's Auto Service Center of Roseville:
First let me say thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns over the phone the other day. Many times repairs of this nature can be frustrating and potentially confusing; taking the time to really talk through the root cause and efforts extended to remedy the situation can make it easier to understand. Overheating issues often start with an obvious repair, like a radiator or water pump. As a result of overheating, at times additional damage or whats called secondary damage can occur. At times, items stressed or on the verge of failure do not always present themselves immediately. As you experienced, your vehicles engine temperature was fine after the initial repairs were completed and it was only after driving for 2 weeks did another failure occur. With a vehicle that has 200,000 miles on it, the radiator was just the beginning. We attempted to approach the repair in a conservative manner, in an effort to respect your desire to replace the vehicle in the near future. Car repair bills are rarely anticipated and even more rarely welcomed. Our goal at Kniesels is to provide you an open and honest car repair experience. We know this repair is not the only one you will ever need and strive to be the shop you return to when service is needed. Thank you again for the open feedback and trust that you will give us another opportunity to serve you.
