Bad choice! 8/30/2013

I've never written a review on anything and I can't help but share my experience with 24/7 Audio/Video, especially if you're going to spend the $$$ for your entertainment system. My house already had pre-wired surround sound system with speakers, control knobs, and all... It cost me almost $8K to have 24/7 Audio/Video to come in and connect my system. The price I paid also include 2 DVD players, a rack to hold the control unit, a remote control, 1 small stand alone speaker, some additional wires to have everything in one place, and the rest were labor. Two technicians were at my house for about 5 hours. My system worked when they left and lasted for about 5 weeks. Four weeks later my music started to act up. It worked on and off for about two more weeks, there after my music doesn't work at all, doesn't matter which station I picked. Then the main remote control started to act up. Sometimes it connects, other times it does. We have two TV areas with one remote. The TC program on my iPhone and iPad do not work well despite I have full wifi signals. I travel quite often so I don't use my music as much when I am home but when I do need to watch tv, none of my device can turn on my tv except for the actual manufactory tv control. Beside turn on the tv, it will not operate on other systems like Netflix, etc... I am finally home for two weeks and decided to make a service call. My appt was for the following Wednesday (a week away) at noon and the hourly fee will be $90. I cleared my afternoon to be home. Noon past, 12:30pm came so I decided to call and was told they'll have someone call me right back. I waited until 2pm, a man called me to see if its still ok for him to come over. He informed me that he was on the east side of town, which was about 45 mins to an hour away and the job could take one to three hours. I had to be somewhere at 5pm and asked if he could rescheduled. He mentioned that someone else will have to do that and she will call me immediately. Well, it's been more than a week since and I still have not receive a call to reschedule a new service time. My system is non-operating and the way 24/7 set up the system, you have no way of using it if the main control is not working! I am very unhappy with the service and result of almost $8K I spent. I don't know yet if I should call them for service and if I would go through the same experience with the next appointment and future services :( Or should I call another company? more

RESPONSE FROM 24/7 Audio Video: Please note that a refund was issued for the equipment due to the customer changing his mind on it. However the labor was not refunded as the work was done as agreed. more

Rob and his Team are Excellent - Total Pros! 2/1/2013

Had an amazing custom sound system installed in my home and out by the pool about 6-7 months ago. Everything has been working great and enjoyed by both me and my guests. Some hiccups during the installation process, but everything was worked out and finely tuned by Rob's custom installers. The price was extremely fair and I'm am extremely satisfied with the results. Highly recommended!!! more

24/7 Audio Video installed a surround sound system for a Stone Creek Media wall in two stages. During my discussions with the sales rep, we thoroughly worked through the scope of the work. We noted that I already had in-wall-rated HDMI cable for the TV that he said could be used for this installation. We also discussed possibly using an optical (audio) connector between my BluRay player and receiver. During the first stage, the installer did not complete the routing of the surround sound wires yet charged us for the full estimate of that portion of the work. When the second and final stage occurred 247 insisted that I use a new HDMI cable or they would not guarantee the work, the installers had extra work to do that the first installer didn't complete, and this increased our total cost more than 50 over the original estimate though there was no change in the scope of work. The installers also never addressed the optical cable option. I would not recommend 24/7 Audio Video to any of my friends, family, or associates. I do not plan to use them in the future. I noted my dissatisfaction with Stone Creek. RESPONSE FROM 24/7 Audio Video: In response to this. If you have HDMI capability, you do not use optical cable in most cases. Reason for this is HDMI provides both audio / video source. During pre-wire we can only accomplish what can be done prior to the final install, in which case the remainder of the wiring is completed. The warranty portion is straight forward. We can use customer provided cables, but do not warranty them in the event that they fail, which is why we recommend using our HDMI as we provide a "life-time" warranty for the customer. This cable was the $50.00 overcharge. more

Ok experience 1/12/2013

Initially I called and talked to Aaron he was very nice and helpful. I had called a couple other places and got bids and his was the best from what I could tell. I went ahead and hired 24/7 they came and did the pre-wire all went good all though even though they took an hour long break to eat the food my wife made for the when the finished they handed me a bill that was for 2 hours more work then they bid. They didn't run into any problems so I didn't quite understand why I paid for them to eat and there mistake of thinking the job wouldn't take as long as it did. They came back and finished the job and all seemed to be great it looked good and sounded good originally. It has been a couple weeks now since finished and there are numerous problems the Apple TV doesn't and has never worked the rear speakers don't put out the sound they should so I am not sure if they are set up right and the wireless remote only works sparingly. I have a pretty inexpensive and basic system in my living room that cost much less than what I spent on this movie room and honestly the surround sounds are much better. To be fair I haven't called to let them know about my problems but on the flip side of that they haven't called to do any follow up with me either. It's seems to me now that they finished and have my money they don't care about the customer service even though I let them know I have some other things I want to do to my house. I plan on calling Monday to see if we can get this fixed if they handle the things I will write another review. RESPONSE FROM 24/7 Audio Video: Hello Scott, Please call us in regard to the issues. While they may not be the least expensive, I found the service to be very good. Already owning a very expensive universal remote they gave me a very good alternative that has been working very well. They also helped me a great deal with my Sound bar Surround system (again not inexpensive) but a great improvement from before. more
