Don't believe all the 5 stars, they are fake. I had one question about the apartment, does the landlord provide proper heat? He and his realty guy swore they knew the owner and i...

Great Experience! Reliable, Friendly, and Helpful 9/10/2010

I needed to find an apartment quickly, and was having difficulty with some of the people showing apartments who were late to follow up on my inquiries, misrepresented the quality and availability of their advertised apartments, and failed to show up for pre-arranged appointments. After I expressed interest in an apt, Reed called me right away and was able to set up an appointment to meet with me the next morning. He was prompt, friendly, and flexible about my scheduling constraints. Everything from signing the lease to picking up my keys was simple and fast. I'm happily settled into my apartment now, and am thankful that everything about the process was much easier than I expected. I absolutely recommend Apuzzi Realty, and specifically Reed, for any real estate need in the city - I will definitely go to them again in the future!! more

Jeff cooks it for ya! 7/17/2010

I spent hours in front of the computer looking through Craiglist for an aptmnt until I found Jeff's add and all it took was for him to show me one apt and that was it. I gave Jeff everything he asked for but a copy of my pays stub. on the same day I received a call from him telling me about my credit scores which i thought it wasn't going to be great but it was enough for Jeff. Without his help I don't really think I would have gotten this apt. I got a called from Jeff telling me I got the apt and just this afternoon I signed my leased(less than a week baby!), he explained everything to me with calm and professionalism. Thank you Jeff I really appreciate your help. Pros: Realiable, Fast, Very Thorough, & Professional more

Jeff Makes Things Happen 7/15/2010

After seeing an ad on Craigslist for an apartment, I gave Jeff a call and got called back immediately. Was able to work around our very busy schedules to show me and my roomates an apartment in Washington Heights. Seemed like he was available 24/7 which could be the main reason why we got the apartment. We were very indecisive, but he did everything he could working with the landlords to get this apartment for us. Honestly without Jeff, I feel like I wouldve been apartment hunting for months, instead it took me only a week! Pros: Everything! Honest, Professional, Patient, Reliable more

not a great experience, but found a great place in the end 6/11/2010

So, firstly, I'm a real person - I know it's suspicious when an account only has 1 review and no profile, but I signed up specifically to write this review - I'm usually a Yelp-er. I had a mixed experience with Apuzzi. I didn't feel great about the process at many points, but it did end with me in an apartment that I really like. Go ahead and use them and you may find a nice place, but be prepared to be informed and aggressive - true of most brokers, honestly. I called Reed, an Apuzzi broker, from a Craigslist ad. He couldn't show me the place listed online (strike 1) but offered to show me another. I liked it and decided to sign. Reed was very friendly and professional throughout the process, and he came to my office to bring me the application. There was a $150 fee for both me and my guarantor (strike 2). Then he called the next day to say that the place was $100 more per month than he had originally told me - AFTER I paid $300 in application fees (BIG strike 3). I managed to bargain them down to $25 above the original price and they wouldn't budge any further from there. My mother (my guarantor) called to talk to Steven Apuzzi, the owner of Apuzzi Realty, and he was very rude to her. I met him when I went to sign the lease and he was friendly, but came off as sleazy. I got him to agree to refund one of the $150 application fees because of the higher price, but it took several reminders to get him to actually send me the check. He also took forever to let me know when I could actually move in, which made reserving a U-Haul tricky. Reed met me to let me into the apartment to measure before moving in, which was nice. But I asked him to ensure that several repairs were done before I moved in, and only about half of them were by my move-in date. All of that said, I'm now in apartment that I like a lot and that is very reasonably priced, and I didn't have to pay Apuzzi a broker's fee. I think they just pulled the same crap that most cheap/no-fee brokers do, so they're probably not much worse than any others. You may find a great, cheap place through them, and Reed was an excellent broker (none of my issues were with him), but do your research and be prepared to haggle. Pros: nice broker, cheap apartment Cons: lack of honesty about pricing, rudeness more

We couldn't have found a better broker than Jeff! 3/29/2010

I have dealt with many brokers since I moved to NYC, and most of them were out to make a quick buck and never really listened to what I needed or they just didn't care. Not so with Jeff Nach! We were in a tricky situation, waiting for someone to take our lease before we could move to a new apartment, and Jeff was patient and willing to help us out. He never rushed or pressured us to make a hasty decision. He is truly a wonderful human being who is there to help you. If we ever move again or know anyone who is moving, Jeff gets our highest recommendation! Thank you Jeff!!! more

not so good! 11/12/2009

I saw a post on craigslist about an apt and I called. Reed returned my call in a prompt manner and was able to show the apt the same evening. We fall in love with the apt as soon as we saw. It was a little bit above our budget but we were willing to pay it. We filled out the application and payed the application fee ($200 in total) until then everything was perfect. After that we didn;t know where we were. We were supposed to have the apt for the 15 of nov because we started the process Oct 28. After calling then constantly, sending every document they asked for 2 1/2 weeks after they told me I wasn't approved and they didn't know why. Some people would say that may be i didn't meet the requirements but if that was the case I think they didn't need to wait 2 1/2 weeks to tell me that, and because every time they asked for a new paper he would say "" this is a good sign, this means they will approved you. I just regret that I wasted almost 3 weeks for my search because they didn't find the time to talk straight up to me or give me a reasonable reason for not calling back or what was wrong with the application. I just think it was a waste of time and that they were not honest with me.. Pros: Promp to show the place Cons: Not fast more

Wonderful experience with Apuzzi Realty! 9/13/2009

I found an ad on craigslist for an apartment in Midtown East. I emailed the person who wrote the ad, Reed, and asked if I could see the apartment immediately. He met me there just 20 minutes later. I loved the apartment and wanted to show it to my roommate. I asked Reed if he'd be willing to show it again later that evening. He didn't mind at all! Pros: Great at communicating, easy lease signing more

Jeff is the Man! 9/3/2009

Looking for an apartment? Jeff is the man to work with!. He was great! I left him a message stating that I was interested in a place. He called me back immediately and scheduled a showing. The place got taken as I was heading there (Thats how fast it is in NY folks!) but Jeff found another one instantly. He found a great place with very reasonable management. The property was good quality and the price was perfect for my means. He was very patient through out the signing. He cut no corners and explained everything about the process with perfect clarity. Im so glad I worked with this guy, he was awesome! Pros: Very Patient, Hard working, Has good eye for quality places more

Jeff is the best! 6/17/2009

I count my blessings in finding Jeff. Our communication started through an ad on Craigslist. However, at that time, the apartment I was interested in was already rented. He said that I should circle back with him in a week because he was expecting another apartment vacancy. A week later, still nothing. This back and forth went on from the end of April until recently, beginning of June. I was persistent and he was always professional and honest about what he could and could not do. Because I'd been on his radar, as soon as he heard that an apartment was going to be vacant, in the vicinity I wanted, he called me up. At that point, I thought it was a lost case because he didn't have anything for me in the area I wanted in over a month. He was committed to finding me the place of my dreams -- so much so that the apartment he showed me still had it's current tenants in it! This goes to show his dedication; he didn't waste any time...as soon as he learned that the current tenants were leaving, he went to work. He always followed up with me and made sure all my questions were answered. He's a straight-shooter and just a generally nice guy. Don't believe the bad reviews -- some people are just immature. Thanks, Jeff. I cannot wait to move into my first, dream apartment!! Pros: Committed, reliable, professional, HONEST. Cons: None. more

BROKERS ARE A DIME A DOZEN - DON'T PUT UP WITH CRAPPY BROKER 4/24/2009

Always trust your gut. If a broker does not return your call or answer your direct questions, its probably because they're trying to pull a fast one. I've dealt with a number of brokers in the past 7 yrs that I've lived in NYC and one thing is for certain: if the broker is avoiding you or giving you the run around, its a safe bet they're up to no good. RUN AWAY FROM APUZZI REALTY !!! Pros: Wouldn't know.. never received a call back more

Jeff makes its happen! 3/14/2009

Jeff was quick to call me back when I inquired about a studio listing I saw online. He met me at the space that day, and within hours I was approved for the place! Thanks Steven and Jeff, I can't wait to move in to my new apt! Pros: Honest, Fast more

Saw Steven Apuzzi ad in craigslist for location 193 & Broadway. Decided to take midnight drive to see area. Found two loud clubs, Bar Serie 56, and one at 190 st. Talked to workers smoking outside. Said noise goes till 3AM and in summer wild, motorcycles all night. My wife is pregnant. Pros: won't call back Cons: won't call back more

Reasonable for a NYC Broker 9/20/2008

Jeff was helpful and showed us the place without trying to sell us on anything else. He was also a fair dealer. I think he represented the place honestly, but he could have done his own research a little better. The place turned out to be $25/month more expensive and he did not mention a $15/month fee for the security guy, but the place is great and the price is reasonable for the neighborhood. This was more honesty than we got from anyone else that we tried working with before him. All in all, that's basically 95% accuracy. Pros: good properties for the most part Cons: well ... you are going to pay an arm and a leg to use a broker in NYC more

Terrible apartment 8/23/2008

Go talk to the people who live in the building. Jeff Nach will not tell you the truth. The super will not be honest, Jeff Nach pays the super to lie. Go back by yourself and talk to someone going in, they will be nice and tell you the truth. Sometimes, one apartment is worse then the others, over a bar, with a bad neighbor, tell the people what apartment you are looking at. Jeff Nach will be nice he is trying to get his fee, but he is not honest. You will think he is your friend until you move in and then suddenly you will see the truth. Be very careful, do not trust Jeff Nach, do not trust a super who works with him. Pros: none Cons: Jeff Nach is a snake more

An Honest, Ethical Broker 8/9/2008

Earlier this week I worked with Jeff Nach of Steven Apuzzi, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Pros: Honest, Fast, Efficient, Reasonable Fee more
