Excellent Shoe Repair is in the heart of downtown Chicago, not too far from City Hall. I used their service once to repair a sole on a pair of nice dress shoes. They do a very good job. The materials they use are genuine and not some cheap temporary fix.
The service is good, but they made me a wait a week to get the shoes back. I didn't mind because it's not as if I needed them right away. The price can be hefty, though but people pay it. I saw a lot of businessman coming in for shoe work and alterations.
I would recommend going if you have a pair of shoes that you are really attached to.
