Review content:
The Smokehouse on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley is a great place to go for the "All American" type of food. They have chicken sanwiches, hamburgers, shakes, fries, cole slaw, you name it.
They don't deliver but they do take out if you call your order in ahead of time. Their prices are very good and their food is healthier than Jack in the Box or McDonald's because they use 100% beef or chicken, not some unknown combination of mystery meat.
It's very family friendly, with indoor and outdoor seating on benches and picnic tables.
They are open until 1:20am most nights, and that's usually when they are crowded with the Telegraph Avenue crowds getting out of clubs.
The service is good, but every now and then they'll get my order wrong, I chalk that up to how busy they are.
