I don't recommend this pool if you have other options. The New Paltz town pool - Moriello - is much better. The county pool is loud with kids running everywhere whereas the town has water falls and fountains to drain out all the noise. Also the kiddie area in the county pool is dangerous. It starts at 1 foot all around and then the other side is 3 foot immediately. There is a wall to break it up but my 2 year old didn't know and he almost jumped right into the 3 feet. There isn't any shade if you like shady areas. There was 1 tree with shade that everyone was fighting over. Otherwise you have to sit under the pavilion. The town has 2 slides and the county doesn't. The only plus is that the county had a concession stand, whereas the town doesn't yet. There is a proposal for one but it is being prolonged.
