Review content:
Somehow I've been the the Salem Beer Works a good number of times but never to the Boston Beer Works (and I'm always in Boston). I love this one though, even if I don't like to frequent Salem all too often, and if it's not too out of the way from where you live I would definitely suggest it. I don't really know since when, but Salem has become this little hipster scene where the square actually holds a lot of fun places to go on any given night (Thurs-Sat being most popular, obviously). The Tavern on the Square is about a block down from the Beer Works, and both are a good time. The Tavern just gets crowded really fast so I prefer the Beer Works, but most importantly for their microbrews. Pales and ambers are my favorite, so just ask the bartender/waiter for their recommendation if you're not sure what to get. Also, even though I really hate fruity beers, they apparently have a good selection of tasty blueberry and watermelon beers on season (if you're in to that stuff...). Also their appetizers are just fine, and given the fact that you'll want to come here in a decent to large sized group they're a good price (I like the nachos, pretty standard but they come in a large portion). All in all, if you love beer and love a good time, this place is just right.
Pros: delicious microbrews!
Cons: parking can be a hassle
