I rarely right reviews, but this one had to be told. I had my 2nd chemo treatment and my hair fell out in clumps. Having had beautiful thick hair all my life, this probably was the most traumatic event in my life. I had to get a wig. So, I threw a turban on my hairless head and drove out to Custom Hair wigs in Clearwater. My anxiety increased with every mile that we drove. By the time I walked into the shop, I was a basket case. I was greeted graciously by a lovely lady who sensed my discomfort immediately. She immediately proceeded to take me to the fitting room, sat me down, and she simply took charge and lead with kindness, compassion and a very human touch. She brought in some lovely wigs and began to try them on. I immediately felt my anxiety leave. Some looked great, and she gave her expert opinion on each and every wig, but I still couldn?t believe that I was now going to have to wear a wig. Again, sensing my distress she told me to go next door and have a nice relaxing lunch and that she would put the wigs aside for me to try on again when I came back. ?If you don?t feel up to it today, the wigs will still be here tomorrow.? She told me that her concern was that I leave this shop happy, comfortable, looking lovely and confident. ?Your comfort is more important to us, then buying a wig right here and now.? I could not believe that my comfort and happiness meant more to her than selling a wig at that moment. After lunch, I felt ready to try on the wigs again. I did so and with her wonderful and supportive help, I chose 2 wigs and for the first time since learning about my cancer, I felt good. It is almost unfathomable in this day that a company would go out of their way like this to express kindness and sincerity. Needless to say, I not only will go back for more wigs when I need them, but I will never stop recommending this shop to my friends that are going through chemo and for those who just want a wig for convenience.
