I'm new to the area and selected Melissa based on the reviews. I asked for my roots to be done along with new highlights, and a haircut. Melissa spoke to me for maybe 60 seconds before she rushed off to mix color. I was so stunned that when she returned, I tried to be clear with her about what I wanted exactly. She patted me on the shoulder and told me not to worry, that I was “in good hands." Not only did she color my entire head of hair which I specifically didn't want, but she gave me an entirely different color. I walked in a brunette and walked out a orange-blonde with clunky-looking stripes. Aside from the color, it wasn't even a good color job. Later she admitted that she gave me "the standard Round Rock look" and assumed that's what I wanted (and that would explain some of the positive reviews). We both agreed that she would make it right, so I went back, but this time, I walked through in detail what I wanted and brought actual samples of the color. Deja-Vu, she rushes off, mixes the color, then as she applies it, happens to mention that she added a whole vial of indigo. WHAT?! I express confusion and alarm, and again she assures me I'm "going to love it." When this one was done, my hair was near black! In a week, I went from brunette to blond to black. And to make matters worse, I was told by another colorist that Melissa messed up my hair so badly, that I have to live with this color for another month because they're going to have to strip it with bleach to get the black off. I need to spend a month deep conditioning it! My hair was super healthy before I went in. And to top it all off, the cut is a disaster as well. I told Melissa to cut some "wispy" bangs angling down my face. Instead, she cut a big wad of hair straight across. It took me forever to grow my hair out! If you want the standard fake clunky-blond frosted 80s look with zebra stripes, go to Melissa. If not, protect your hair and go elsewhere!
