Review content:
I work in the Woodfield area, and I love stopping at this little place for lunch. The cheddar-potato pierogis are to DIE for (fried is always the way to go, but boiled are not bad as a healthier alternative), as are the cheese blintzes. I also love the savory spice sauce available for dipping. The potato pancakes were decent, and the Polish sausage is served as a fried octopus-looking concoction (but it tastes GREAT...nice crispy skin). My only gripes are they used to put more meat in the meat-and-spinach (maultaschen) pierogi when they first opened, and have scaled back on the meat so much they now only taste like spinach, which is disappointing. Both my mom and I noticed this. We also dislike how they won't let you mix-and-match pierogi. You have to commit to either 6 or 12 of one kind only. I understand them not wanting to make 1 of this, 2 of this kind, 1 of another, etc., but can't they at least do 3 and 3? It's impossible for me to eat 12 pierogies, but it's also impossible for me to eat 6 of one kind only! They really need to change this rule. Other than that, great place.
Pros: Delicious, varied menu, and relatively fast services
Cons: Rigid menu restrictions
