Review content:
Fort Rickey offers a variety of activities to please the fussiest family member--a fun day out for all! Favorite animal attractions include the baby pygmy goats, the hungry deer, the pettable porcupine and the visiting wolf cub! A number of other animals make their home here--a wallaby, strutting peacock and a family of monkeys among them. An especially enjoyable feature of this park, though, is the interactive accessibility of many of the animal exhibits--your little ones can be right next to many of the animals, petting and feeding them. For the less animal-enthused, there is also a small playground and an old fashioned water park designed with a variety of pipes, sprays and lots and lots of refreshing water!
The staff is primarily young college students who are very patient with children and knowledgeable about the animals with which they are working.
A day for the family can be a bit pricey with an admission fee of 9.00 (and a charge for any child over 2)--but pack a picnic to enjoy in the shaded trees, splurge on some popsicles at the snack bar and have a great day!
