I walked into Petite Coquette today and a woman (who I gather was the owner, Rebecca) starting snarling at another customer standing next to me about how she was "sick of people from other stores coming in and casing out my store...it pisses me off and I recognize them from the shows last week at fashion week anyway" and gestured at me and continued to give me dirty looks. I work in healthcare, not lingerie retail and it was a bizarre hostile environment to walk into when I was just trying to buy a bra. I left and I'm not going back ever again.
For alternatives Azaleas on 10th b/t 1st and 2nd Aves is small, friendly and has a great selection or Agent Provocateur if you want to drop more $$.
