Businiess name:  Safeway Food & Drug
Review by:  Michael S.
Review content:
I recently moved to the plateau and this particular store is within walking distance of my new house. That said, I think I was spoiled when I lived within 1 mile of a Fred Meyer back in Redmond. I've found my bill to be 15-20% higher per week at Safeway as compared to shopping at Fred Meyer, and obviously given the size of the two stores, the selection at Safeway isn't nearly as good as it is at Freddie's. I also find their club card prices to be very deceptive in the sense that it seems like half of their stock has a "club card price", and it's still usually higher than Fred Meyer's regular prices. You're paying for the convenience and lower customer:employee ratios. QFC isn't much better on the pricing front... so I've been trying to stop at Fred Meyer on the way home, and using Safeway for small things during the week.
