I am the new manager of the Curves in Hercules. We now have a knowledgeable and helpful staff. We have all gone through the Curves training program and we go over it together on a weekly basis. I am so sorry to read about what Joanne went through and I am doing everything that I can to ensure that something like that does not happen again. Please feel free to contact the Curves owner or manager at any time with any concerns, we are happy to hear from you. We would be more than happy to serve you in the future. I hope that you will come in and find that we have changed and improved. We have a weight management program that shows you how you can lose weight and keep it off with out dieting forever. Curves is the leader in womens fitness. At Curves you can do strength training and aerobics at the same time. If you were to go to a gym, you would first have to go to the aerobic machine (stair master, treadmill, eliptical) for 20, 30 or 40 minutes and then you would need to go out and lift weights and stretch. That would take up to an hour and a half if you were to maximize the resistance in all of the major muscle groups. At Curves our machines have a double positive motion which means that you can work two opposing muscles at the same time (example: bicep and tricep). The machine provides resistance using hydraulics. It is just like moving through water. It saves a lot of time. By moving the equipment as fast as you can it is equivalent to lifting as much weight as you can. If you don't like to spend an hour and a half at the gym than Curves is for you. There is research to prove that it works. To read about it go to www.curves.tamu.edu. "Over the last 6 years, the exercise and Sport Nutrition Lab at Baylor University has completed more than 15 studies and tested thousands of women in order to examine the effectiveness of the Curves plan." "We have found that the plan is highly effective in promoting weight loss, improving fitness, enhancing health status and improving quality of life."
