Review content:
I went to Monica's while visiting family in Chattanooga. My sister and daughters were with me to begin looking for a dress for me to wear to my daughter's wedding in October. With 14 weeks before the wedding I thought that I would have time to order a dress and get it in before the wedding. When I began to try dresses on I was told by the "consultant" that it was too late to order a dress even if I paid for a "rush" on the order. I was taken aback by this -- she encouraged me to select something and buy it from the rack. After much agony I selected a dress that was too large and not the color that I really liked. I paid a deposit of half of the cost and scheduled a time to return to Chattanooga (31/2 hours from home) to have the dress fitted. After I paid and she was handing me the receipt she took it back and said, "Oh, could you sign this" and I did after having taken my glasses off. I did not sleep well that night (Saturday) primarily because I felt rushed to make a decision and the next day I drove home. On Monday, I called several bridal shops in the area and they told me that I definitely had time to order a dress. I called the consultant at Monica's and explained that I was not happy with the dress and that I had checked with several salons in the area and they assured me that they could order a dress for me in time....she said that she had to check with the manager and call me back. She called back and told me that all sales were final and that it stated that on the receipt which I had signed. I asked to talk with the manager and he was rude to me and asked me why I bought a dress that I did not like!! I explained to him what had occurred and he just said "you could have paid a fee for a rush order (I told him that I was told otherwise) and we've already called to place another order for that dress." I called other salons and they told me that they give clients 48-72 hours to change their minds. I would never buy anything from this salon because: 1) they refused to refund my money even though I contacted them within one working day AND 2) the fact that I was misled about placing an order and about the policy which was not explained to me.
