Review content:
I am a member of "Goldpoints Rewards". It is a reward program offered by Radisson Hotels and their affiliates. Whenever you stay at one of their properties you earn "goldpoints" for each dollar you spend at the hotel during your stay.
I had earned 63,500 points about 4 years ago and had never redeemed them as yet. A few weeks ago I inquired about spending some of my points for a night's stay at the Country Inns and Suites in Anniston, Alabama. I was told that the nights I wished to reserve at this particular Inn using my "goldpoints" were not available. I then tried to make reservations at several other destinations for the same time using my "goldpoints" and received the same answer; "No reward nights available".
I sent an email to the Goldpoints Rewards Center via the "contact us" on their website asking why I was not allowed to use the points I had earned for a free night's stay. They replied with an explanation of how to go about reserving a room using the goldpoints rewards. I already knew how to reserve a room on their website using the "redeemgp" code. I sent another email requesting a specific answer for the question I had asked originally. I then received a reply stating:
" The hotels have a certain number of reward nights available per day that they will book with "goldpoints rewards".
Since I had tried to redeem my points at several Country Inns and Suites along with numerous other affiliates with no luck, I am assuming that the "Goldpoints Rewards" program must be a RIPOFF !!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel that this is unfair to members who earn the "goldpoints" by paying for rooms and services and accumulating the points. Members should have access to the "reward night" rooms if the hotel has a vacancy.
Will I ever be able to use these points for a night's stay at any Radisson, Country Inns and Suites or Park Inn????? It doesn't look like that is going to happen.
I have no trouble redeeming my "Priority Club" points with Holiday Inn. I can redeem these at any time, there is no blackout dates and I am never refused use of them. Obviously, the "Goldpoints Rewards" program is not worth anything.
