Review content:
When I saw coupons for Pisces Lounge and Restaurant, Cornwall-on-Hudson's newest culinary offering, I was swayed to finally check the place out. Several restaurants housed in this space on Hudson Street have gone out of business almost as quickly as they appeared, so my husband and I were hesitant to try the newest incarnation.
However, we left happy. I had broiled scallops while my husband tried a pasta dish. Pisces is largely a seafood restaurant and has a very fresh selection, with specials changing regularly. My scallops came with a delicious side of mashed potatoes and some grilled seasonal vegetables, for a little under $19. A glass of sauvignon blanc completed the meal.
I'd definitely return, as the food was well worth the trip, but I hope the owners make an effort to make the facility their own. The decor shows little difference from the previous restaurant housed there, Opa (a Greek place that we also enjoyed). When we walked in, we were the first dinner patrons on a Friday evening, and the waitstaff was sitting in the lounge watching television.
I do hope, though, that Pisces gets off the ground and becomes a success. Coupons are in the latest Clipper magazine (distributed in Orange County), so give this place a try.
