Businiess name:  Eyeglass World

Review content:
Well, I had a problem with my 7 year old daughter squinting and blinking excessively, and even though her school had done vision checks last fall, it is now the middle of summer, so I took her to get an eye exam. I was going through the phone book on a Sunday and most of the businesses listed were not open. I came across about 5 that happened to be open, in Rockford, and of the 5, Eyeglass World had the most friendly receptionist and least expensive exam cost. Add to that, if you end up buying glasses there, they take the cost of the exam off of your total glasses price! AND they were running a special 2 for 1 deal, you can get a free pair of glasses and free eye exam when you buy a pair of glasses. I'm not terribly familiar with Rockford, but the receptionist gave me excellent directions and we found it just fine. There was plenty of parking and the building was in good repair, looked quite new from the outside. When we went in, it was clean and bright. They offered cold filtered water and cups from a water cooler, which was nice. Everything was attractively organized. I spoke to the friendly receptionist who greeted us promptly and provided some forms to fill out. While I filled them out, she engaged my children in a friendly conversation about school, etc., that put my shy 7 year old at ease. As soon as I finished with the forms she led my daughter into a room for a preliminary test, and since she had been so friendly already, neither I nor my daughter had any qualms with that. After that the Optometrist saw her promptly and invited me to observe the exam. He was also very friendly and explained everything before he did it, putting my daughter and me at ease. After he was finished he spent a lot of time talking to me about eye care and signs to look for in children's eye health. My daughter passed the vision exam with flying colors, and they did not try to talk me into buying anything anyways. My husband and I both wear glasses and they did not push anything on us, which I really appreciated. We did look around a bit, and tried on some new frames, but left without purchasing anything except the eye exam. However, when my husband's or my own glasses need to be replaced, or if anyone else in our family needs an eye exam, I will definitely be going there again!
