Perhaps Rock City holds a special place in my heart because I grew up going there with my grandparents each year when we came to camp in Tennessee. Funny how life comes full circle and now I live here in Chattanooga. Rock City has been around long enough for my Dad to have gone as a child and it is a magical place for children. Squeezing through the Fat Mans Squeeze and the Needle's Eye, looking out over Lovers Leap, trying to see seven states at once, etc. Located on Lookout Mountain, Rock City weaves around the mountain with lots to stop and see along the way. Elves are tucked here and there, there beautiful views and a whole Mother Goose display at the end (right before you exit into the gift shop, of course). Adults will probably not get as big a kick out of it as the kids, but it makes for a fun afternoon. The grounds are clean, there are several restrooms along the way, and admission is not outrageous. This is a legendary attraction that you won't want to miss.
