Back in the day, Radio Shack used to have all the electronic parts a hobbyist could ever need, and at reasonable prices. Then cell phones came out. Now, Radio Shack sells nothing but overpriced phones and remote-control cars. Online, an LED can be purchased for less than one cent each, when purchased in quantities of about 500. At Radio Shack, a single LED sells for (and this is not an exaggeration) $7.50. Staff know nothing about electronics. If you need a cell phone, you can go to a hundred other stores and get a better deal. There’s a reason why the corporate office is closing hundreds of stores people.
