Review content:
Aveda is a cosmetics brand. I think they're part of Estee Lauder. Anyhow, this is one of three or so Aveda stores in the Philadelphia region. I haven't been to the others, but I'd say this is pretty much hit or miss. The first time I visited, on a weekend, the associates weren't too helpful. They were okay, but not as friendly as I'd want them to be considering how high-end this store is. On the next trip, the clerk was very nice. This was on a weekday. She served me and two other customers, and even fixed me up a free sample of their pure-fume. (which smells medicinal and tea-like, by the way) What I like is how the products here are natural. I like that emphasis. I also like the woodsy/modern decor and the bright lighting. I love the way the products are displayed, and I love the products themselves. Just that the prices are unnaturally high, especially considering that they seem to be selling themselves as a casual luxury kind of brand. (For work, the prices wouldn't seem as bad. They're still cheaper than many department store brands like Chanel.)
Location: near the shuttered Strawbridge's.
