Review content:
It was my birthday weekend and I was looking for a new sushi spot to celebrate.
So the research began...
I first heard about Hokusai from the "Citysearch - Best Sushi 2008" List. It is ranked as the #1 spot in all of Los Angeles. I have tried many of the other spots on the list, but I never heard about Hokusai, so I thought I would give it a shot.
I made the call for a reservation a couple nights before the occasion, and already I was very impressed with the service I was given.
The manager, Tiger, was extremely nice and even made sure that my requirements were met to make my Birthday dinner a special one.. He even gave me his number incase I had any more questions or recommendations for the night!! Now, where else can you find service like that!?!?
A couple days later, we arrived at Hokusai for the occasion and our table was waiting for us.
Now before I tell you about the food..I must admit that I am a major sushi snob!! I only like the freshest of the fresh! I have tried sushi from all over world including the most famous fish market "Tsukiji" in Tokyo, (It doesnt get any Fresher and more authentic than that!)
So I would like to say that I know my sushi very well and my expectations are extremely high.
With all that being said, the sushi at Hokusai did not dissapoint one bit! It was extremely fresh, and definitely one of the best sushi spots in Los Angeles I have ever been to. I have already been back a couple times since my brithday a few weeks ago, and will continue going back as long as Hokusai exists!
I recommend this place to my friends, family, and everyone who is reading this right now. If you like sushi as much as I do, then prepare yourself for a treat!! TWO THUMBS UP!
