I started out taking my dog to another vet in Lancaster, but he had an emergency when we were on vacation and my mom was keeping him. She took her dogs to Smoketown, and they got him in right away. We were so happy, and they took good care of him, that we switched. It is a lot more expensive than where we were previously. I rarely get out of there, even for just a check-up, for less than $100. They like to run lots of blood tests, which get pricey. My dog developed seizures suddenly one day and we had to take him in to PETS in the middle of the night. Smoketown got him in for follow-up as soon as they opened, and all but hugged us when we walked in the door. Everyone who greeted us smiled and said, "Heard you had a rough night..." Everyone there knew my mom's two adopted greyhounds and still ask about them, even though they are now in puppy heaven. My only complaint is that it is impossible to order a meds refill over the phone. I have had to do this about 6 times since he first had seizures and it has NEVER been there when I go to pick it up. It is like I never called.
