If you're planning to visit the newly reopened and renovated Will Rogers ranch house in Pacific Palisades, http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=24174 a good place to dine nearby is Mort's Deli. It seems every LA deli is an institution, with its celebrity regulars. Mort's apparently is no exception. There's a great story about an elderly Marlon Brando dining there with his sister Jocelyn (he had an omelet) and chatting with proprietor Mort Farberow. http://brando.crosscity.com/Brando/Main.aspx?Page=Articles/Lion.ascx Mort's outdoor tables are a great place to laze away an afternoon, especially if you've just come from an expedition to Will Rogers State Historic Park, http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=626 where the ranch house is located, off Sunset Boulevard..
