If you are wanting to go to beauty school, think twice, no, three times before signing up at the hair professionals in Oswego.
I signed up thinking this would be a good trade to learn in this economy. However this school lacks in hands on training so much so that I can not express what a disappointment it has been to me. Let me start off by just saying that the administration tells you one thing when they are getting you to sign up but then after you sign up you will slowly notice that they continuously make announcements in class changing their requirements and rules and it totally contradicts the understanding that you initially had when signing up. They told me they were VERY flexible with allowing students to make up missed/sick time etc and next thing you know oh new rule...you must attend school all week without coming in late or leaving early to make up for a previously missed day. Try being pregnant and initially being told they were flexible and that you can make up for any time...thinking it is ok to stay home if you have morning sickness but then you soon learn you were lied to and can no longer make up for that day up by coming in on saturday...instead you have to try an feel good all next week and then have to go to school on saturday too after being there all week as well. Theres alot of other issues that I have heard and seen. They allow high school vocationals which is nice but the administration seems to treat all the students even the older ones like we are high school students. Students who were present all day but that may have forgotten to clock out at 5 are told that they lose all the hours from the time they clocked back in from lunch til 5pm. So that is ripping the paying student off of 4-5 hours of their well earned school time,...when administration could even vouch that the student was there until 5pm. They really have this way of making you feel unrespected, juvenile and belittled by administration at times. The administration fails to remember that we are their customers...we are paying $17,000 to attend the school. The administration has very poor customer service towards the students, their REAL clients. So I will tell everyone I know how shabby this school is.
Pros: location
Cons: Administration is not student friendly, after you sign up.
