Canteens atmosphere is warm and friendly with a jazzy, lively decor. With gorgeous loooong bar, intimate booths, and a casual seating area with comfy overstuffed couchesand toys! make Canteen a great space for a drink or a meal. The martini menu is terrific, you can get a real Bermuda Dark and Stormy. The dinner menu ranges from simple comfort foods to spicy Asian-inspired fare. Menu selections are limited but change regularly and there are always delicious specials so one never gets bored. Try the Canteen salad, an unusual green salad with dried fruit, gorgonzola, and a touch of confectioners sugar. Chef Scott Avery excels at desserts; the tapioca is a particular favorite. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service. Fun touches like bread served in cute galvanized tin buckets and the penny candy that arrives with the check make for a completely realized experience from beginning to end.
