The Dog Resort in SODO is truly a stellar place for doggie daycare. I am a retired person, (major Dog Lover & daughter of a veterinarian) who moved to Seattle with my son and his family in May 2018 to continue caring for my grandchild and granddog, Solomon, their 7-year-old Doberman. In preparation for a 6-month trip I planned beginning mid-October, I was the person who researched, screened and visited facilities that provide daycare for dogs in Seattle. Among the criteria that was important to all of us was location (hopefully near downtown work address, enroute child’s preschool and home), long hours of operation, and all of the basic considerations like amount of space, cleanliness, ability to get sufficient exercise and rest, staff/handlers training, etc. I visited 5 of the top-rated facilities and The Dog Resort in SODO is HANDS-DOWN the BEST. Their facility is spacious, clean, the décor is great, it’s a big building so even though the dogs are separated by size they have plenty of space to interact with each other. They are never alone. Most of them are fed in individual crates unless they require special attention. Our Solomon has huge issues with separation anxiety so he is one of those dogs that requires personal attention and affection ALL THE TIME. I seriously doubt that there is another facility in Seattle that is willing and able to provide the level of special attention that our Doberman demands. And they do not charge additional for this. AMAZING!!! All of the staff are all dog-lovers trained in dog behavior. A couple of extraordinary things that I should mention are that The Dog Resort takes dogs with special needs and has a lot of experience with them, they have a veterinarian or vet tech on-site. Mona, the owner, has been incredibly available and caring for us as Solomon adjusted to his new routine in daycare. This is not a place to just drop off our beloved Solomon while we work, it’s a place where the staff love our dog and our family become ‘part of THEIR family’ too.
