Review content:
Very dissatisfied with the improper installation of our Matterhorn Roofing System installed by Midtown Home Improvements’ subcontractors as they did not install per manufacturer’s written instructions leaving our “premium” roofing system weak and vulnerable. Our 2-3 day roofing project spread out over 3-week timeframe and here we are 2 months out still without any satisfaction. Each time we contact them, they act surprised to hear of the issue and/or state they do care and focus on one specific topic that is favorable to them and disregard all of our concerns. We feel MHI is deceptive, high pressure in their sales tactics where they give you three prices with the first price being astronomical down to lesser amount but you must act today or that price not valid. Additionally, they showed us gutter-guards at the time of sale only to have a different product installed not to mention they installed a ridge vent that was not on the approved list of ridge vents per the manufacturer, not to mention the ridge vent was for asphalt roofs. When we raised the initial concerns with this incorrect ridge vent, we had to have the manufacturer’s representative come out before they agreed to replace. All of this is going on while we had no front gutters due to the gutter crew showing up before the soffit and fascia were complete due to MHI’s lack of project management skills. When the subcontractors returned to replace the incorrect ridge vent, they were not happy and stomped all over the ridge vent during install leaving dents in the top of the vent and causing the filter to come out in the attic. They also did not properly install the ridge vent caps in addition to walking on them (metal ridge caps) resulting in no peak on our ridge vent. If you are looking to have a metal roof installed, save yourself a lot of frustration and unhappiness and go with a roofer, not MHI aka General Contractor with subcontractors.
