Here is my experience, and this is humbling to write as I was an abuser and not abused. I needed help. I was severely depressed and suffered from challenging relationships and trauma. I had to learn how to control my rage and get tools to manage my emotions, especially the extreme ones. First, the admissions team was so amazing and helpful. They worked with me from the beginning when we did not think my insurance would not cover my stay. They stuck with me when we finally got the agreement to come to the center as in network. I found out on a Friday I was coming in on Monday for sure. Even though we started all paperwork and home work a couple days before. It was a smooth process a little confusing on the homework but I made it through. My treatment team was some of the most amazing people I have had help me with my all encompassing issues. My primary helped me with family issues with my wife, Grief managment also to better understand my diseases of Bipolar and PTSD. Another team member was amazing in giving me tools to help with my anger and rage and helped me realize my main core value and that is to be a compassionate man. For all the groups with counselors I have not mentioned was amazing I finally have the tools I have been searching for. That was a journey of over 3 decades. One last person that has to be mentioned was my spiritual counselor. He was amazing he helped show me the path back to sprituality on October 11th just three days after my arrival. The best way to describe it was a true spirtual experience. My primary doctor was amazing. She was able to educate on diabetes care and other things I may not been as receptive as I need to be but going forward I have the information. The other doctor on my team was amazing to give me insight on many things one thing that stuck out was I had several manic episodes spanning a couple of days and he informed me the medication I was using for sleep worked wonders for those episodes.Thank you for saving my life, heart, and soul.
