Review content:
Just as overnight temperatures dropped into the 40s and 30s, a furnace component (the large fan or blower) failed. This furnace came with our house when we bought it new. W.E. Brown has maintained it from new. It is not a brand that W.E. Brown sells, but company technicians have kept it running well. With this component failure, we understood that the conservative strategy would involve replacing the furnace rather than waiting for one component after another to fail. At first, we wanted to replace it with a complete W.E. Brown system, but getting the necessary design and estimating work done took longer than we had — no complaint about this: issues were complicated, and other commitments came first. In the end, we decided because of discomfort in the house simply to replace the fan, as the technician did promptly. That’s it: complicated problem, less-than optimal solution, our choice. It works well for us now. J
