We contracted through Home Depot to have a new central air conditioning system installed in 2015. They sent ARS Of Boston to install our system. The system started to act up in less than three years. ARS was called and someone came out and stated that they did not see anything wrong with the system but they charged for a tune up. The system started to act up within 48 hours, but going by their word that they system was fine we did not call them. About 5 or so weeks later the system stopped working. Someone from ARS came out and played around with the system for close to an hour and he also charged us and told us the system is defective and we will have to pay almost $2000 for labor although the system is covered under warranty. Whatever he did lasted less than 24 hours. We have contacted Home Depot and ARS several times as to why we need to spend over $7000 to get an air conditioning system to last over three years??? The system that that was in place before lasted over 40 years. ARS stated that because we did not have the system serviced the last two years and because there is a couch in front of the other system that why it died. Couch has been in the same place for 15 years and the people that owned the house before us had their couch in the same place. We also had the old system serviced before and they didn’t say that the couch was a problem. Wondering if this was an older system that they had in their store room why it didn’t last. Our opinion is terrible service from this company.
