An initial investigation of the sink drain line indicated that there was some form of restriction. With further investigation the main line was found to have root debris in the clay tile pipe joints. The recommendation was provided by Drain Right to have liners put into the various lines out of the house and into the main sewer line in the street. The necessary work with a 25 year warranty and price proposed were agreed to by the homeowner. The work started the next day along with obtaining the necessary city permit. Three major excavations were made as follows 1) in the garage, 2) in the driveway, 3) in the corner of the garden by the sidewalk. The work proceeded in a tidy fashion to expose the the various sections of pipe. A copy of the work permit was posted on the fence gate so that it was visible from the street. On the afternoon of the second day a long length of ABS black pipe was drawn through the defective pipes to the hole in the garden near the sidewalk. The line from this location to the main sewer line in the street was then lined with an epoxy coated fiber glass sleeve. When this work was completed DrainRight made contact for the inspector to review and approve the work and materials. However, due to a coordination problem at Drain Right the inspection was delayed for two days. This delay necessitated the homeowner to make several schedule changes with respect to personal appointments away from the house, which in some cases resulted in five days delay, a major personal inconvenience. The overall effort and cleanliness of the workers was appreciated. At the end of the job the holes were filled and then covered with concrete for 1&2 and the garden 3 returned to its original level. Two inspection clean out covers were provided in items 1 and 3. To date the waste water and solids appear to be running away properly. The overall high cost for the work was a surprise which necessitated the redirection of personal funds to cover the bill.
