Review content:
Arnold & Sons fixed a leaky faucet for $227. A different leaky faucet they said they could not fix because they did not know the brand. They said they would charge over $800 to remove and replace the faucet and its twin. I called another plumber and he fixed the leaky faucet for $100 in less than 20 minutes. I should have gone to this other plumber first. I feel I wasted the $227 I spent on Arnold & Sons. I truly regret going to them.
RESPONSE FROM Arnold & Sons Plumbing Htg:
This customer was given pricing for repair and replacement for BOTH faucets as is standard for any customer, even though the faucet was a non customary faucet brand, and its repair attempt success rate was below 50%.
Will this price based plumber be around when the faucet leaks in less than a year?
Does that mean this experience was a value at $100 if it leaks again in weeks or months? Maybe but not likely. The trend is that two go out of business and 3 start up and go out within the first 5 years in business.
95% of plumbing companies around central Illinois don't have a website or review site that you can get on and voice your opinion freely. We have both. Does this other company have a website? Will they be around in a year or two? Maybe but at those prices we've seen the competition go out of business at a rate of 2-4 a year for more than 5 years.
There are no service plumbing companies older than Arnold and Sons in the peoria Area. WE charge pricing that keeps the doors open and our techs well compensated with a reasonable profit. We have done this everyday for 30 years.
Had we been called and notified of this problem before going to the review site to post a bad review we could have gone a long way to work with the customer.
I dare say we won't hear from this customer when the problem resurfaces a month, two, or six down the road as 82.3% of faucet repair attempts have proven to fail in less than 6 months because faucets are not built like they were 40-50 years ago. Yes we track statistics like this as they help increase our service success rate over all.
