INCREDIBLY frustrating experience today. Numerous misrepresentations & CONSTANT pushing to sell us more care than our dog really needed or than we were willing or able to pay. On first call the office manager passed himself off as a nurse & gave us a preliminary diagnosis over the phone with a quote for about $85 for a routine exam, gland expressing & boarding for the day- saying we could pick her up at 5:30. So, plans made we dropped her off at 7:30 this morning where we were immediately told she had to be picked up by 4:30 by two different people & that she would be ready by lunch. Doesn't work when you work full time! Then we were given a list of preliminary work that would ""need"" to be done totaling about $600(which we refused)-before anyone saw her & not including ANYTHING we asked for the previous day. We talked to them throughout the morning, always changing their recommendations & adding to the bottom line- again just for preliminary work not including an exam or treatment plan. Since we were told we had to pick her up by 4:30, I took a late lunch to pick her up. By this point we had been talked in circles by the vet, the front desk & a nurse or two (not including the office manager who said he was a nurse- found out -not so much...) & still nothing we had asked for was done! On arriving at the clinic- my husband was on the phone w/ the vet trying to figure out what was going on, she tried to tell me that he was about to approve bloodwork ($200!). On talking w/ him, he was NOT approving anything, just trying to understand why she wanted to do what she was recommending & why they weren't caught on her last visit. She also told him that we could definitely pick our dog up at 5:30- too little too late-I was waiting in the lobby. I finally said enough- asked what had been done (still nothing we asked for)- told them what we originally asked for, they FINALLYdid it- got her paperwork & a bill for $153 for work we did not approve! Grrrrrrrrrr... Pros: Clean, convenient Cons: Too many- I am speechless
