Review content:
My wife and I hired matt Weselowski to build our home, he came as a reference from a friend. When we met him, my wife and I were happy to have him do a majority of the work on our house (he doesn't do electric/mason/plumbing). However soon after the build the problems began. We had our basement walks poured and talked to matt to see when he could start framing, needless to say he had to push us back a month. Not the greatest news but, we knew there would be snags along the way. When the month time came up for him to begin, the lumber company stated that he never approved the lumber or the truss order. The lumber wasn't that bad, it would take a couple days, the trusses on the other hand still needed to be made and then delivered which set us back even further. I should mention we started the build in October and at this point we are into December and we are beginning to wonder if they house would be closed in before the snowy weather would hit. In January, well after winter had begun, Matt finally got the OSB on the roof, no shingles just wood. So now all our house is framed with raw wood and it is soaking up the moisture. By the end of February the shingles are on and the windows are installed. March, April and May is how long it took him to get most of the work (siding, soffits, trim board, rough finished basement) done. This is when Matt pulled his scam. We were waiting for other trades to finish their work before Matt could finish his work that we already paid him in full for. Matt sends us a text stating that we owe him money for something we already paid him for and he states he will not come to complete his other jobs we paid him for before we pay him again for the job we already him for. We have estimates/invoices/receipts showing that we paid him already for the work and he still refuses to finish his incomplete work. We are in the process of a small claims court case and will let everyone know the outcome. We just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this unprofessional builder who is giving the construction industry a black eye with scams and lies
