I was at Orvis today 12/29/07, and I was all but impressed. I was in the Fly Fishing section in the back, looking at flies, and not once did anyone approach me and offer any help. I was interested in buying a 35 dollar fly box, which you got 1 dozen flys free. I wanted some help picking some of the better flies, but nobody wanted to help, and after being in the store for over 20 minutes with no help, I just decided to leave. Staff seemed very unwilling to help any other customers. There was one employee outside that was helping someone hands on with a fly rod that could probably have helped me out, but the other employees didnt help at all, so that left a big red mark in my book. The staff at cabelas, and at little lehigh shop offer help even if you don't really need it, and they will always help you find what you are looking for. Orvis had a boat load in their fly selection, but I guess Little Lehigh, and Cabelas will have to do for now.
