LTAC was new to me, but the staff was great. They all treated me with courtesy and they made me happy. I felt at home, which was important to me. They all knew how to talk to me and keep me happy. The nursing staff and techs would stay on top of my blood pressure and sugar. They were always checking on me to see if I needed anything. Amanda, the Patient Relations person, was very kind. She invited me to the patient activities and helped me stay involved. I had never been to a Mardi Gras in my life, and she asked me to be in their patient Mardi Gras parade. They gave us masks and decorated our wheelchairs and paraded around the hospital. I really enjoyed it! It made me feel good, not just another patient. Nurses Heather, Craig, Melissa, Chris and Neddy were always on time and easy to talk to. I like when someone talks to me on that level, because it made it easier for me to open up to them. I was able to connect to them and build a closer relationship. I was happy to see some of those nurses training new nurses that were just coming in. I know they were learning from some of the best. One person that really impressed me was Belinda. She would let me know things. Like if my family member called and I was out of the room, she would send the Nurse to let me know. That was more than I expected. That says to me that they cared about my life and family, not just about how the care was going. Everybody was polite and made me feel good. The wound care team took care of my wound. They would do good work on me, changing my dressings and made sure it wasn't getting infected. The crew Lisa, Darla, Brandon, Joe, Lizzette, Tabitha all took time to get to know me. Brandon from HBO went out of his way to make sure I got my HBO treatment one weekend. From PT Megan and Lee were on top of my therapy. They worked me out hard. Kindred Clear Lake is a great place, everyone is nice and they take good care of their patients. I give this facility fabulous marks. I've already told my family members how good they are. Patient, David Rangel
